SPOTLIGHT: Measure O Construction Continues to Go Well at Phase 2 Schools
Construction Update Cox Fulton Tamura

Construction continues to move along well at all of our Measure O Phase 2 Schools, Cox, Fulton and Tamura.  At Cox School, work has completed in the B Building and staff was able to move back into their classrooms.  This is the first classroom building to be completed at Cox, in addition to the work finished on the administrative building at the end of September.  Staff is settling into their newly air conditioned spaces as work begins on Building C.

In addition, at Fulton Middle School windows are being installed in the Building C classrooms.  Moreover, window frames are being painted and work progressed on the Building A roof.  And projects in the MPR continue to advance.  All of this is in addition to the work completed in the administrative building earlier in the fall.  Staff had the opportunity to move back into this space at the beginning of this month, and they have been enjoying their newly air conditioned work environment.

And at Tamura School, a beautiful, newly remodeled MPR and administrative office was revealed last week.  Staff are enjoying use of the renovated staff restrooms, in addition to the cool new work space.  In addition, flooring is being installed in the Building C classrooms.

We continue to be grateful to our community for their support of our District through Measure O.  The impact at our campuses is immeasurable and it is with great excitement that we continue to enjoy the progress of projects at our Phase 2 schools!
This Is #TheFVSDWay:  Fun Facts from FVSD
  Recruitment Poster from 1960s
As we celebrate the rich history of our District as a part of #TheFVSDWay, we are honored to share some of the interesting facts and events from our nearly 150 years.

As enrollment in the District grew throughout the 1960's from only one school with 235 students to ten schools in 1969 with more than 6,700 students, recruitment of teachers became extremely important.  And the District continued to be dedicated to finding the very best staff to join the FVSD Family!

Representatives from the district traveled across the country to secure top teachers to be a part of our innovative team.  And, the commitment to professional development we have today was evident then as well, as new teachers participated in a two-week Beginning Teacher Seminar, created and presented by FVSD, and hosted at the newly relocated District Office on Lighthouse Lane.

We are so fortunate for our FSVD Family, educators dedicated  to teaching and learning, with a passion for innovation that has always been a part of the fiber of our District. Because after all, that is #TheFVSDWay.
TAG IT:  Join Us in Celebrating The FVSD Way!
The FVSD Way
As noted above, our theme for 2019-20 is The FVSD Way!  We have taken the time to study our history, analyze the present and continue planning for the futre.   We hope that you will join us in documenting how you celebrate "The FVSD Way" by capturing the amazing moments in our schools and tagging your photos on social media #TheFVSDWay  #FVSDDriven #WeHeartFVSD.
