HIGHLIGHT:  FVSD Goes Gold!

We are proud to celebrate our Gold Ribbon Schools for 2016: Courreges Elementary, Cox Elementary, Gisler Elementary, Newland Elementary and Oka Elementary.  The outstanding work of these schools is to be commended!
FOCUS: 14th Annual District Art Show

The 14th Annual District Art Show was a huge success with nearly 1,500 participants in attendance!

The evening was an opportunity to showcase student artwork from all ten schools and featured middle school music and cheer programs, in addition to hands-on art experiences for students. The night was led by teachers and VAPA coordinators, Amelia Terich and Brooke James, with tremendous support from our site-level art representatives, the Fountain Valley Schools Foundation, and the Superintendent's Parent Council.

This was a true community event and something we can't wait to see again next year!
UPDATE: FVSD forms School Facilities Engagement Committee (SFEC) to Discuss Next Steps
In an effort to seek additional community input, Fountain Valley School District is excited to begin our School Facilities Engagement Committee that includes: parents, community members, staff and other stakeholders who live and/or work within the District's boundaries. During four meetings in May, the SFEC will be discussing: school facilities, school funding, public information and community opinion, and achieving consensus on a recommendation to our Board of Trustees. The group will meet at our District Office, from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM on:
  • Monday, May 2nd
  • Wednesday, May 11th
  • Monday, May 16th
  • Monday, May 23rd

ANNOUNCEMENT: School Web Sites Go Live and FVSD Presents New App!

The App is called Fountain Valley SD by Edlio.  It makes it even easier to keep up to date on the activities and events offered by the District and at each school.

We are also thrilled that, after almost a year of planning, all ten schools have a new website.  To visit your school's site, enter the name of the school and then . fvsd.us.

Example:

It will take additional time to completely populate all of the information, but we are confident that the new interface will make your school's site easier to navigate.

Please take a moment to download the Fountain Valley SD App and bookmark your school's website.  We are committed to improving school to home communication and this is just one more step in the right direction.
