FVS Theater Presents The Laramie Project
Since 2002, thousands of high schools, colleges and community theaters have performed Moisés Kaufman’s play, “The Laramie Project,” and the FVS Theater Department joins that list for its production, May 4-6, in the Performing Arts Center.

Taking on a production of this importance is not lost on Fountain Valley School Theater Director Hollie Marine and the cast members.

“Since November, our play choices have been very intentional,” she said. “‘Fiddler on the Roof’ and ‘The Laramie Project’ both provide a way for us to bring our school values into focus. The cast and crew had healthy discussions and personal reflections during our first rehearsal, and it was easy for them to make the connection of why this play is, sadly, still relevant today.”

Living Your Dream
"I spend countless hours encouraging students to live their dreams, to write their own histories. With that in mind, I recently applied and was awarded a Live Your Dream Grant from the American Alpine Club in order to pursue one of mine."

From the Athenaea Archives...
Every month in the Prairie Post, English Department chair and Athenaea adviser Dave Reynolds P '13, '18 will share a piece from an historical Athenaea issue.

"I run my fingers along the spine of aging Athenaeas and pull out the spring 1996 issue, which was the first year I became the faculty sponsor of the magazine, 21 years ago. This Athenaea is thin and labeled 'limited edition.' Inside, I read a poem from Chris Martin '96."

An Open Water Adventure
Science faculty Rob Gustke’s coaching duties for the school year should have been complete after the Colorado State Swimming Championships in February.

But instead of relaxing this quarter, he agreed to coach his daughter, Julia ’18, and freshman Lucia Heminway for a spring independent sport—training for an open-water swim. The goal? Completing the Third Annual Lido Key Swim in Sarasota, Fla., as part of a seven-mile relay team.

That's the basis of aspiring filmmaker Ani Yahzid '16's new venture, The Exposure Film Project. Read more and see the trailer.
