Puppy Yoga? More Like Puppy Kisses & Senior Smiles!

Sometimes, all it takes is someone willing to say, “We can help!” ❤️

When a Facebook post asked for rescue puppies to visit an Orange County senior care facility, volunteer Jennifer knew Emma's four remaining puppies were perfect for the job!

She recruited fellow volunteer Carole, and together they delivered an afternoon of puppy kisses, cuddles, and smiles.

As for the yoga? Let's just say the puppies had other ideas!

These little ones may be waiting for their forever families, but they're already making a difference in the world.

A big thank-you to Jennifer and Carole for making it happen!

Showing Up Matters: Amy's Journey from Dog Walker to Lifesaver

Sometimes, saving a life starts with something as simple as showing up.

When Amy began volunteering with Labradors and Friends in 2019, she simply wanted to spend time walking dogs. She never imagined how many lives she would touch—or how deeply those dogs would change hers.

From helping frightened dogs learn to trust to opening her home and heart to Kenji, a beloved hospice foster, Amy's journey reminds us that every act of kindness matters.

No Rest for the Rescue Crew!

Some people come home from vacation and unpack their suitcases. Lorie and Jeff came home and saved two lives! ❤️

When the shelter reached out about two little black puppies whose time was up, we asked for just 24 hours to come up with a plan.

And that plan came together thanks to Lorie and Jeff.

Fresh off a long-awaited vacation, this dedicated husband-and-wife volunteer team didn't hesitate to step up, bringing Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde to safety and welcoming them into foster care.

Two puppies. One last-minute rescue. And two volunteers who made all the difference.

Thank you, Lorie and Jeff, for always showing up when it matters most!

Their second chance is just beginning. Could you be part of their happy ending?

From Dashie to Jamie: A New Chapter Begins! ❤️

Sometimes, finding the perfect home takes a little extra time—and people who refuse to give up.

Our handsome, curly-coated Dashie had a few bumps along the way when his first placement didn't work out. But his wonderful foster dads, Bill and Todd, were determined to make sure his next chapter was the right one.

And it looks like Dashie may have found his perfect match! ❤️

His new mom first called him Guapo (Spanish for handsome), but after watching Outlander, she decided Jamie was the perfect name.

He spent his first night sleeping beside her, and she's already fallen for his gentle personality, curious nature, golden ears, and adorable curls. He's even showing off his zoomies!

A heartfelt thank-you to Bill and Todd for giving Dashie the love, stability, and patience he needed while waiting for the right person.

Sometimes, a happy ending is worth waiting for.

Rain or Shine, Rescue Shows Up! ☔

A little rain couldn't stop our incredible volunteers!

Our Labradors and Friends crew joined the San Diego Animal Support Foundation's annual adoption event at Grossmont Center, bringing adoptable dogs, plenty of enthusiasm, and a whole lot of heart.

Despite the wet weather, we received two adoption applications! ❤️

A huge thank-you to everyone who braved the rain to give our dogs another chance at finding their forever families.

🍂 YOU ASKED FOR MORE TIME — YOU GOT IT!

Our Pampered Chef fundraiser was scheduled to wrap up this week, but there's good news for anyone who hasn't had a chance to shop yet:

The party has been extended through October 31st! 🎉

That means more time to browse, find fall kitchen favorites—and help our rescue dogs at the same time.

A portion of proceeds from purchases made through our fundraiser goes back to Labradors and Friends, helping us keep saying yes when dogs need us.

And after the week we've had, we can tell you those yeses matter. ❤️

More time to shop. More opportunities to help. More dogs getting their second chance.

Great food. Great finds. A great cause.

Every Yes Changes a Life

Rescue begins with a yes.

Sometimes it's a volunteer answering the call when two puppies have run out of time.

Sometimes it's a foster family giving a dog the patience and stability he needs to find the right home.

Sometimes it's bringing four little puppies to brighten the day of someone who needs a smile.

And sometimes it's showing up in the rain because the dogs are counting on you.

This week, Lorie and Jeff said yes when Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde needed a last-minute rescue.

Bill and Todd kept saying yes to Dashie, making sure his next chapter would be the right one.

Jennifer and Carole said yes to sharing Emma's puppies with a senior community.

Our volunteers said yes to another adoption event, even when the weather had other plans.

And Amy's years of dedication remind us that sometimes the most powerful yes is the one we keep saying, year after year.

One yes can become a foster home.

A rescue.

An adoption.

A moment of joy.

A lifetime of love.

And every time someone says yes, we can say yes to the next one. ❤️

Because friends don't let friends go homeless. 💗

❤️ Before You Go...

One small action can make a very big difference.

🐾 Share Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde.

Two little lives were saved just in time. Now they need forever homes.

❤️ Help someone discover Emma's puppies.

Four little ambassadors are ready to bring joy to their own families.

🏡 Consider fostering.

Every open foster home means another dog we can save from a shelter.

📣 Share an adoptable dog.

You never know who might see them and fall in love.

You don’t have to foster or adopt to help a dog get home. Sometimes, you just have to help the right person see them.

Until next Sunday...

With gratitude,

The Volunteers of Labradors and Friends
