Co-Creating the Care Experience
VOLUNTEER SOLUTIONS UPDATE
  New Year, New Format!
We've updated our bi-monthly Volunteer Newsletter to be more informative, more user-friendly, and less time-consuming to read. Full-length articles are now available when you click on the links provided.

We hope that this format will work well for you and for us (and for the many trees we can save through reduced printing and mailing). If you have comments or suggestions about this or any of our communications, please send them our way!

Classes, In-Services, Support Meetings and More!
Stay up to date on the meetings and events in your region. Click on the calendar button to go to our new  printable events calendar!

Don't Forget to RSVP
All volunteers are welcome to attend any of our in-services and continuing education events. Please call our Volunteer Message Line at (828) 233-0384 and leave a voicemail with your name, and the event you plan to attend (including the date). That way we will be sure to have enough materials/food/etc. Thanks!
VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT
Barbara and Joe Carter are celebrating their first anniversary as Four Seasons volunteers. Barbara can often be seen in the gardens at Elizabeth House, and is a weekly volunteer in the office at Greatrex. Joe enjoys cashiering at the Home Store, and is a valued member of the Foundation's Finance Committee.

Drake is one of our amazing Therapy Dogs who enjoys bringing smiles to the patients and families he visits at facilities around Henderson County. He and his handler, Volunteer Marché Tucker, have been a part of our volunteer team for 5 years. Marché says she loves volunteering with Four Seasons because it gives her an opportunity to share her sweet Drake with people that truly appreciate his visits.
YOUR STORIES
Bereavement Buddies
The holidays can be a sad time for those grieving the loss of a loved one. When Sherry Binkleman was assigned as a Bereavement Buddy to a daughter whose mother had died the previous year, she knew the proximity to the holidays would bring up sad and tender feelings.

NEW! Volunteer Q & A

Q: How will you recognize the pet therapy dogs for their service?
-- Carole Parshall, Administrative        Volunteer

Wellness at Four Seasons
Volunteers in all of our service regions are invited to enjoy our Vibrant 4 Life wellness benefits! Check out the latest newsletter for a list of events, great tips on balance and rejuvenation in the New Year, and discounts offered to volunteers and employees at area partner businesses!
Department Update

Let’s take a moment to celebrate what we have accomplished together in the first quarter of the fiscal year.  The table compares where we were this time last fiscal year (FY16) to this fiscal year (FY17).

PROGRAM COMPLIANCE
Winter may seem to have disappeared for now, but we could still get another snow (or two!) before it's over.

Please review our Inclement Weather and Safety Information for volunteers, and email your volunteer coordinator with any questions. We want you to be safe!
Did you receive the Flu Shot this year? While volunteers are not required to get the flu shot, they are required to report if they did or did not. Please make sure to return the Influenza Vaccination Acceptance/Declination form, which was mailed to you along with the Annual Education and Study Guide in November. If you did not receive the mailer, call or email us!
