Should an Economic Downturn Change Your PR Thinking?
In the spring of 2009, during the very height of the Great Recession, KRPR President Ross Goldberg wrote an article for Small Business Digest entitled “Economic Downturn Is Not the Time to Axe Public Relations Budget.”

Now more than 11 years later, amid economic turmoil and a global pandemic, Ross revisited the advice he shared in that article and has written an updated version for our blog.

What We're Proud of Right Now
Beacon Healthcare Systems’ Chief Compliance Officer John Tanner authored a commentary entitled “Seven Healthcare Compliance Escalation Scenarios,” which ran in the health care publication MCOL. Beacon is home to the health care industry’s leading compliance and risk management technologies.

Care N’ Care Health Plan has entered into an agreement for American Specialty Health’s contracted practitioners to provide acupuncture services to the health plan’s more than 14,000 Medicare Advantage members in North Texas. The agreement takes effect Jan. 1, 2021. For many seniors, acupuncture offers a gentle, safe and effective approach to help ease and treat the aches and pains that naturally come with aging.
OneLegacy was named “Service Provider of the Year” by the Los Angeles Business Journal at the publication’s annual Health Care Leadership Panel & Awards event. Held virtually this year, the event brought together LA’s most elite industry officials (including OneLegacy CEO Tom Mone) for a panel discussion and to honor nominees and 2020 winners. Congrats to OneLegacy on this fabulous achievement!
Totally Kids Rehabilitation Hospital was featured in Loma Linda City News for swiftly implementing strict infection control policies in the fight against COVID-19. The move was critically important given that their entire patient population is deemed high risk. Totally Kids provides complex medical care and treatment to children, adolescents and young adults who are recovering from physical trauma or surgery, have suffered catastrophic illness, or who are dependent on technology.
Spotlight on Strategic Health Group
This month we shine our spotlight on Strategic Health Group in acknowledgement and appreciation for the volunteer work they are doing with Downtown Women's Center. DWC is the only organization in Los Angeles focused exclusively on serving and empowering women experiencing homelessness and formerly homeless women. SHG managing partners Dennis Eder and Hank Osowski are serving as members of DWC’s strategic planning committee in helping to develop the organization’s plan for years 2021-2023. In addition, Dennis has been working with DWC’s CFO and BilkeyKatz Investment Consulting to assist in the updating of the organization’s investment policies and guidelines.
SHG provides health care organizations with consulting services across a wide spectrum of needs including strategic planning, new health plan development, market and product expansion, strategic partnering and affiliation, interim executive management, and many others. We’ve been proud to call them a Kevin/Ross client since their founding in 2011. To learn more, visit
