"It's a Great Day to Be a Scout"

Anybody who has met our Council Chief Executive, Dan Templar, knows that everyday is "a great day to be Scout." And this summer was proof of that; here are some highlights from this Summer.

  • Our District's Troops advanced their Scouting skills at summer camp at Resica Falls, Horseshoe, Rodney, Trexler, and other great Scout Reservations.
  • Many Cubs from our District participated in Day Camps, Family Weekends, and even a Webelos Week at Resica Falls.
  • Cub Pack 11 scouts and alumni participated in a pre-game at the Philadelphia Union.
  • Radnor 284 Trailblazers girl Troop participated in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery.
  • Troops 122, 151, 176, 176G, and many others participated in their local 4th of July Parades and other events.
  • District Order of the Arrow members went to the National Order of the Arrow Conference in Knoxville, TN.
  • Radnor Troop 284 did the weeklong Fawn Run backpacking experience at Resica Falls Scout Reservation.
  • The District has had 30 Scouts achieve the rank of Eagle this year, including its first two female Eagle Scout this summer.
  • William O'Hara of Troop 122 was awarded the 2022 Camp Staff Member of the Year at Resica Falls. What a great recognition.

All of these adventures could be found on our District Facebook page; keep up to date on our District activities at the Constellation District Facebook page.

Fun Fact to Know

Musser Scout Reservation is a 1400 acre property in Marlborough Township owned by the Cradle of Liberty Council; 1200 of these acres are protected by a conservation easement.

The reservation is made up of three camps:  Delmont, Hart, and Garrison.

  • Camp Delmont was started in 1916.  Its name is a combination of the DELaware and MONTgomery County Council, later known as the Valley Forge Council.
  • Camp Hart opened in 1930 and was part of the Philadelphia Council prior to its merger with the Valley Forge Council to form the Cradle of Liberty Council.
  • Camp Garrison opened in 2000 and is devoted to Cub Scouting, including themed camping areas.
