MedicineDistinguished Lecture: Medicine in Auschwitz

Teresa Wontor-Cichy is an activist, researcher, and historian at the State Museum of Auschwitz plus an author of several books including imprisoned for their "Faith-Jehovah's Witnesses in KL Auschwitz." Before this book was published in 2006, there had been no previous study devoted solely to the Jehovah's Witnesses who had been held at the Auschwitz concentration camp. For more information

WatchersReception and Film: Watchers of the Sky

Watchers of the Sky  is the first film in a new series presented by the Emelin Theatre in partnership with the Holocaust & Human  Rights  Education Center. Part of the theatre's commitment to expanding its award-winning film presence in the county, the series will include three films that cover a range of human rights issues. Register here.

Still Here is a project conceived by NYC photographer Brian Marcus, whose grandfather, Fred Marcus, was a survivor of Buchenwald. Committed to preserving the legacy of Holocaust survivors, Brian's concept was to photograph over 100 members of this remarkable community.

Brian partnered with author June Hersh to photograph and interview over 150 survivors and WWII liberators.  Click here to register.


JudyJudy Altmann, Holocaust Survivor, Guest at The Mayor's Report

Judy Altmann is an active member of the Holocaust & Human Rights Education Center's Speakers' Bureau.  She  is a survivor of Auschwitz, the Essen and Gelsenkirchen Labour camps and the Bergen Belsen concentration camp.
