Safety Spotlight

Safety is all of our concerns. Each day someone’s life is changed as a result of a crash on Tennessee roadways. With the growing population, we have experienced, the number of vehicles moving up and down our highways will inevitably increase. Here are some facts that put into perspective the growing challenge trucking faces daily as more vehicles travel our state.

Marty Pollock | Director of Safety
Tennessee Trucking Association

If you would like to schedule an event, please contact
the TTA Office at (615) 777-2882.
Last Friday, February 11, three of our Road Team Captains and our Director of Safety visited Oakland High School in Murfreesboro with the No Zone truck. They made the presentation to 6 different Drivers Ed classes.
Students from one of the Drivers Ed classes were given the opportunity to see what it’s like to sit in the driver's seat and get a visual demonstration of where the blind spots are around a big truck.
TTA Director of Safety, Marty Pollock, saw his first No Zone presentation by John Tetreault, Averitt Express, Inc., Rick Bennett, FedEx Freight Corporation, and John Henderson, TCW., Inc.
Our 2022-2023 Road Team Captain Training is scheduled for Thursday and Friday, February 17 and 18. All 27 Captains are required to attend the first day of training, but only the new Captains will attend the training on Friday. Memos of instruction are going out today to Supervisors and Captains.
