Air Force One can fly over 700 miles per hour. That’s really fast! It can also fly higher than most commercial planes, at a height of 45,000 feet. That’s 10,000 feet higher than the normal cruising altitude of any other passenger airliner. Despite its crazy speed, Air Force One flies very smoothly.

John Walker was named Employee Of The 3rd Quarter and was presented a Star Plaque by Kevin Kline, President. John works in Business Development, Government Services Department writing proposals to submit to the US Government for bids on contracts with military treatment facilities across the US. John and his team have been successful in winning numerous contracts this past year for DME. We applaud your hard work, focus and dedication John!

Jennifer Avila Named Employee of The 4th Quarter

Donald L. Mooney, CEO presents Jennifer Avila with the Employee of The 4th Quarter Award. Jennifer took on interim responsibilities to lead the finance department while the company searched for a new Finance Manager. She did an outstanding job leading her team! We shared a bountiful Thanksgiving luncheon at DME corporate offices in November.
|
|
|
Each year, DME transforms the office into "Santa's Workshop" and invites the employees children to have their pictures made with Santa and Mrs. Claus, enjoy pizza, create crafts to take home, visit the break room that has been transformed into candyland with an abundance of candy to choose from, and Bingo is played in the "Frozen" room with prizes for the winners. Wii games are enjoyed by some of the older children. It warms our hearts to see the delight and wonder in the children as they experience Santa's Workshop. There are numerous elves stationed throughout the experience to assist with all of the activities. This year, Santa and Mrs. Claus provided postcards for each child to send their wish list to Santa through a special mailbox found under the Christmas tree in the lobby.

President, Kevin Kline welcomes everyone to the 2018 Christmas Party held at Granberry Hills Event Center! Everyone enjoyed the Las Vegas Casino theme complete with live casino tables. Attendees won chips that they could exchange for tickets for the door prize drawings.

Guests seen here checking out the virtual photo booth. Props were provided and once a picture was taken, you could simply put your email or phone number in and the picture was sent out immediately. It was a fun addition to the Christmas party!

Christmas trees provided a beautiful backdrop for additional photo opportunities! A lounge area was set up around the dance floor for guests to relax and enjoy watching people dance or to just sit and chat.

Etch A Sketch
Video (As seen on Oprah)- This toy was invented by 30 something Andre Cassagnes who was an electrician in France. While he was installing a factory light switch plate, he peeled off the translucent decal and made some pencil marks on it. After realizing that he could see the image on the opposite side he was inspired to create the drawing toy that we all know today as the Etch A Sketch! He experimented with different materials before deciding to use glass because of it's transparency and aluminum powder for it's accessibility on his job. He used a pointed joystick to create an image. The first one that he made was a hollow box with a pulley system inside the box to operate a stylus to brush the aluminum powder off of the screen. The toy still works basically the same way today. The Ohio Art Company has his protype still today, which is a minversion of the toy. They were able to eventually purchase the rights to the Etch A Sketch for $25,000 which was more than they had ever paid for a license, according to the National Toy Hall of Fame. It took awhile for them to perfect the toy but once they did, it was an instant hit.
