Parent Coaches Needed for FMES Basketball Program
Just 1 Hour / Week

If you've coached any sport, have "herding cattle" on your resume, or are willing to pretend you know what you're doing---you're qualified!

Each year we serve about half as many kids as want to participate because we don't have enough coaches---let's help get kids off screens and into the gym!

One hour/week, two sessions to choose from:
  • Gr K-3, 6:00-7:00 pm (more help needed for the first session)
  • Gr 4-6, 7:00-8:00 pm
Youth sign-up hasn't started---look for that in an upcoming issue of Fox Prints Eight (8) Thursday sessions run Oct 19 - Dec 14 (no session Nov 23). If you have to miss a session or two, that is okay.

Please consider volunteering for this rewarding experience! Contact Mike Harloff, mpharloff@gmail.com.
Get ready for the Virginia Readers' Choice program!

This program is optional---participating students have until the end of March to read and summarize books.

Students learn about the VRC program during the first quarter of school. Students who read and summarize at least 4 VRC books are invited to a voting party in April, where they celebrate and vote for their favorite VRC book. Our Fox Mill votes become part of the statewide results, and we find out which books are the most popular across the state in May.

More information, including book lists, is available at the VRC website, www.vsra.org/vrc/. Summary sheets and details are available in the FMES library and its Blackboard site.  Let Mrs. Diamond know if you have any questions! We hope everyone enjoys the selections this year!

sun camera The Yearbook needs YOU to submit photos!yearbook
Make sure your child, his/her class, and all the fun they have at Fox Mill are preserved in the yearbook!

Whenever you attend a school activity, take a few photos and email them to fmesyearbook@gmail.com. As long as they aren't blurry and show kids' faces, they are perfect---Cell phone pictures are great! Spirit days, class parties, candid shots of students working or with their reading buddies, eating lunch in the cafeteria, field trips---we'll need photos of all of these activities.
