Pastor Trudy's Message

Where is home? It seems like a simple question...you give an address. Talk a little more and you might hear a different answer- home may be the state where you grew up (I see you, Wisconsin!), a person's house (emphasis on the person). Sometimes you might hear a song or taste food and proclaim that it takes you home!  We will explore what it means to be home in Christ...and why it matters to our lives of faith.

Mighty God, You call us to find our home in You. Everything else is temporary. Temporary does not mean unimportant, however. Help us to use what is temporary to show Christ's eternal presence! In Jesus' name, Amen.

WONDERING...

Real questions from real people to learn more about faith.

I like a lot about the way things are in my life...do I need to change?

  • Guide the church in listening to and interpreting your message of grace for this time and place in history. In your wisdom, lead us in expanding the reach of your love.
  • Sustain the holy rhythms of creation: days and seasons, hibernation and activity, phases of the moon and tides of the sea. Let these patterns assure us of your constancy.
  • Raise up all who are victims of marginalization, discrimination, and hate. As we anticipate Juneteenth, banish white supremacy and bigotry from the hearts of your people and remove the inclination toward anger and violence.
  • Tend to all who journey by faith and who wait with patience for the fulfillment of your healing promises. Grant perseverance to people doing physical and occupational therapy, people living with mobility concerns, and people facing chronic pain.
  • Empower fathers, stepfathers, grandfathers, adoptive fathers, and chosen fathers to embody this gift of love for their children. Where these relationships are strained or broken, bring your comfort and peace.
  • GLC Confirmation students, Pastor Trudy, Vicar Aaron, and adult leaders as they leave for camp at LOMC this Sunday

Receive our prayers, O God, and come quickly to our aid, through the power of the Spirit and the love of Jesus Christ. Amen.
