At Eternity's Gate

At Eternity's Gate is a 2018 biographical drama film. It follows Vincent van Gogh's final years of life, including dramatizing the theory that his death was caused by manslaughter rather than suicide. It stars Willem Dafoe as van Gogh, alongside an ensemble cast that includes Rupert Friend, Oscar Isaac, Mads Mikkelsen, Mathieu Amalric, Emmanuelle Seigner and Niels Arestrup.

The film had its world premiere in the main competition of the 75th Venice International Film Festival on September 3, 2018, where Dafoe won the Volpi Cup for Best Actor. It was theatrically released in the United States on November 16, 2018, by CBS Films. It received generally positive reviews from critics; Dafoe's acting was widely acclaimed, and for his performance he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor and the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Motion Picture Drama, among others.

Meet Kelly Reemsten

Widely recognized and avidly collected, Kelly Reemtsen is known for her iconic series of richly textured paintings featuring stylish contemporary women wielding the kind of powerful tools traditionally reserved for men.

This recurring image acts as a metaphor for the capable women who arm themselves with quick minds, inherent talents, and the necessary resources to achieve success in today’s complicated world. Reemtsen addresses her subject matter with style and wit but her intentions are serous. What will it take for today’s women to achieve equality?

Kelly Reemtsen is an accomplished painter and print maker whose work has been exhibited in the U.S. and abroad since 1996. She trained at Otis Parsons, Los Angeles, CA, California State University, Long Beach, CA; Art Center, Pasadena, CA; and Central Michigan University, Mt. Pleasant, MI.

Kelly Reemtsen lives and works in Los Angeles, she maintains studios in Los Angeles and in London. Reemtsen is represented by David Klein Gallery, Detroit, MI, Albertz Benda, New York, NY and Lyndsey Ingram, London, England.
