Financial Aid Information Night

Jeanette Maher from Marquette University will present a “Financial Aid 101” program for St. Francis H.S. families. Her discussion includes the process of filing for college financial aid, including the FAFSA. This program is appropriate for parents of students in all grades. Understanding the process makes it easier to plan for future expenses.

Free ACT/SAT Practice Test

Huntington Learning Center Naperville again is offering SFHS students a complimentary full-length ACT or SAT practice test, valued at $199. This includes a detailed score report and family results consultation to help students better understand their strengths, areas for improvement, and next steps for test preparation.

Testing is available through Sunday, September 27 at our Naperville center.

Huntington Naperville is proudly owned and operated by SFHS family Carter and Monica Risdon, who continue to support our students with this service.

To reserve a spot, call 630-369-6985 or email napervilleil@hlcmail.com.

Spartan Family Tailgate

4:30 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 25

Kuhn Memorial Stadium

Join the St. Francis High School Mothers’ and Fathers’ Clubs for an unforgettable community tailgate. Unlike individual tailgating, families do not need to bring their own grills, food or setup. Instead, the SFHS community comes together in a central tailgate area, where the Fathers' Club will be grill and serve a classic tailgate dinner. We'll provide the dinner (hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, desserts and drinks), lawn games, Spartanwear sales, a 50/50 raffle and a special performance by the SFHS Rock Band. Stick around as Spartan Football takes on Nazareth Academy (5:00 and 7:30 p.m.), with performance from our Dance Team, Cheer Squad, Choir and Marching Band.

Volunteers and Donations are Needed! Help make this event a success: sign up to volunteer or donate food/drinks.

Celebrations

We are thrilled to honor our Spartans who received recognition through the National Merit Scholarship Program: Semifinalist Kate R. and Commended Students Sydney D., Chase E., Hannah G. and Sophie L.

More than 1.2 million students entered the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. Our Semifinalist ranks among the top 1 percent of U.S. high school seniors. Our Commended Students rank among the top 3 percent of test-takers.

We also are excited to announce that St. Francis High School recently received its recognition as a Microsoft Showcase School for the 10th consecutive year! A decade of innovation, leading transformation and seeking wisdom. We are proud to be part of the Showcase School community, joining like-minded schools around the world that are truly changing teaching and empowering learning through technology.

Activity Schedule (9/21-9/25)

The Francis Way

The Francis Way represents SFHS' four core commitments: Nurturing Relationships, Serving Others, Seeking Wisdom and Encouraging Peace. Throughout our school community, we consistently see evidence of The Francis Way.

This week, we look back to last Friday, September 11, when our students created words of peace, hope, and strength to hang as "leaves" on a large paper tree in the Atrium and tied ribbons with special messages to trees in our Peace Garden (Door 4).

Students encouraged peace and offered prayers and Bible verses in many of their writings, as we commemorated the 25th anniversary of 9/11.

Pop-Up Raffle: Presidents Cup Experience for Four

It's your chance to win big! Enjoy four tickets to the Presidents Cup at Medinah Country Club on Saturday, September 26. Watch the world's top golfers compete in this prestigious international event at one of golf's most celebrated venues.

Wellness Office Reminders

🩸 Spartans, let’s fill those appointments!

It’s time to roll up your sleeves! 💪 We're challenging our students to show just how big of an impact the Spartan community can make! Students over the age of 16 are eligible to donate (with parental consent). This is also open to our community at large. Last fall, SFHS collected 107 units! This helped to save as many as 321 lives.

February 2 is our biennial Young Hearts for Life Screening. We are thrilled to offer this program again to all students. Details are forthcoming. We rely on parent volunteers to make it possible. Please mark your calendars and join us for a full or half day.

Do the Math!
