Graduated Income Tax Town Hall Replays
To help inform Illinois residents about the proposed graduated income tax that will be on the Nov. 3 ballot, the Illinois Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (IACCE) and the Small Business Advocacy Council (SBAC) recently hosted two Town Halls.

Apply for second round of Business Interruption Grant (BIG) program
The second round of funding for the Business Interruption Grant (BIG) program went live Sept. 17. $220 million is available for small businesses of all types in Illinois.
BIG was developed by Governor Pritzker and the Illinois General Assembly to provide economic relief for small businesses hit hardest by COVID-19. BIG leverages federal funding provided by the CARES Act to help offset COVID-19 related losses for Illinois small businesses. Funding may be used to help businesses with working capital expenses, including payroll costs; rent; utilities; and other operational costs.

Sexual Harassment Prevention Training required for all employees by Dec. 31
Recent changes to the Illinois Human Rights Act (IHRA) require all Illinois employers to provide sexual harassment prevention training to all employees by December 31, 2020, and once per year thereafter – and tasked the Illinois Department of Human Rights (IDHR) with creating a model sexual harassment training program employers could use to meet that requirement.
After several delays, the IDHR released its model sexual harassment prevention training program along with an FAQ. Now that we have the IDHR’s model training, all Illinois employers should begin planning on how they will administer the training to all employees – including part-time employees, short-term or temporary employees, interns, and so on – especially since the IDHR announced that it will not extend the Dec.31, 2020 deadline due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Businesses who fail to comply with this law will receive a notice from the Illinois Department of Human Rights requiring employers to comply within 30 days. If the employer does not comply within the 30 days, the employer will receive a civil fine.

The Frankfort Park District is collecting Bite Size Halloween Candy for the residents at the Veterans Home in Manteno. Bite Size Candy is the #1 item requested by the residents at the Veterans Home. So kids, bring in your leftover and excess Halloween Candy to be donated to the retired Veterans at the Veterans Home in Manteno. You can drop off candy at the Frankfort Park District, Founders Community Center, 140 Oak Street.
Turkey Time Fun: Monday, November 23, 10:30am- 12:15pm at the Founders Community Center, 140 Oak Street. 4-10 years and $9/NR $12. Here’s your chance to burn off some of your energy before eating all that turkey on Thanksgiving. Kids will have fun playing games, making a turkey craft and enjoying some ice cream. Letters to Santa: Due Date: December 2 by 5 pm. Park District Residents Only. Starting Nov. 16, Santa’s mailbox will be displayed at the Founders Community Center. Santa will personally write to each family who writes him a letter, provided that all letters are received by 5:00 pm on Wednesday, December 2. Santa can only send letters to children who include the following: child’s full name, address, city, zip code and of course, their wish list! Parents, please complete checklist when sending the letter. Checklists will be available at the main office or on the Park District website www.frankfortparks.org
