The Frankfort Chamber of Commerce has developed an Internship Scholarship Program and will be joining forces with Lincoln-Way East’s Co-Op program. The goal of this program is to partner with Chamber businesses that are interested in offering aspiring students the opportunity to intern with your business. We hope that by taking on an intern, you and your team will be able to inspire our future leaders and give them hands-on experience and a bit of insight into your profession.

If you are interested in applying to be one of our flagship internships businesses, please complete the attached application and submit it no later than December 15, 2022.

Nonfiction at Night on Mon. Dec. 12 at 7p. Join us to discuss The Dinosaur Artist: Obsession, Betrayal, and the Quest for Earth's Ultimate Trophy by Paige Williams. Eric Prokopi hoped that the auction of his carefully reconstructed Tarbosaurus bataar skeleton would be a financial windfall and another great achievement in his decades-long fascination with finding and preparing fossils. Instead, it sparked an international controversy, a criminal investigation, and turned a spotlight on centuries of conflict over Earth's oldest treasures. Print copies of the book are available at the Circulation Desk. eBook copies are available through Axis 360 with your FPLD library card.

Illinois Libraries Present: Shauna Sever on Tue. Dec. 13 at 7p. Join Shauna Sever, cookbook author, TV and radio contributor, and daughter of the great Midwest, for this special Illinois Libraries Present holiday season event. In conversation with Chicago Tribune food critic Louisa Chu, Shauna will share her love of food, baking, and some tips to make your holiday gatherings delicious. You can register for this Zoom event here: note: This event is made possible by Illinois Libraries Present, a statewide collaboration among public libraries offering high-quality events. Illinois Libraries Present is funded in part by a grant awarded by the Illinois State Library, a Department of the Office of Secretary of State, using funds provided by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services, under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA).
