Event and Volunteer Information

Hello Band Families,

Below you will find all the information needed for the Marching Pride's road trip to Elk Grove this coming Saturday. All families & friends are invited to come and enjoy the day of parade and concert competition. Bring your park chairs and your camera's and come spend the day with all of us.

We need your help...

We need a few extra hands to help during the day. All of the shifts are easy and lots of fun.

Volunteers Needed for:

2 parents to serve as chaperones on the school buses
Loading Trailers @ Pitman
Unloading / Set up @ Franklin
Breakfast / Lunch / Snack Prep & Serve
Helping Students - Get ready before and after each event
Sewing Help - Help sew small problems if needed
Parade Help- Walk with the band during the parade
Pack up / Load Trailers @ Franklin
Unload Trailers @ Pitman

What you need to know:

Out of town reviews are a lot of fun. They are a lot like what you experienced at our review, but without all of the hard work of hosting the event. We will be setting up camp in the parking lots next to our busses. We will use this camp for eating, getting changed into our concert attire and/or marching uniforms, and for hanging out. Imagine a family picnic where you get to watch a parade, enjoy concerts, hang out with other band families all while the kids change into different outfits and get ready to perform. I hope you all can come spend the day with us.

6:00am - Arrive at Pitman

8:00am - Arrive in Elk Grove

6:30pm - Arrive back at Pitman

Jazz Performance

8:05am - Warm up
8:35am - Performance

Jazz Band MUST wear their concert attire on the bus!

Wind Ensemble Performance

10:35am - Warm up
11:05am - Performance

Wind you can bring concert attire & change at camp or wear on bus.

Marching Band & Color Guard

12:00pm - Get Ready
12:30pm - Warm up
2:00pm - Competition

Symphonic, Concert, & Color Guard you can wear comfy clothes and change at camp

Breakfast / Lunch / Snacks

Around 8:30am-9:00am - Breakfast
Around 11:45 - Lunch
Around 2:45pm - Snack

Awards Performance

4:00pm - Awards

What to bring:

Instrument, oil, reeds, and etc.
Polished black marching shoes (please make sure they are clean & polished)
Black tall socks
Shorts & a T-shirt, for under your uniform
Band Shirt, for after the parade
Color Guard - Makeup, Uniform, Hair accessories, & etc.
Jazz - Concert Attire
Wind - Concert Attire
Extra Spending Money - Optional (some reviews have food and shopping vendors)

Band and Guard are scored in showmanship / Inspection and there are several rules that could cost us a placement in the awards if they are not followed.

Facial hair MUST be clean shaven / neatly trimmed
Hair for both the guys and girls MUST be neat around the ears and the collar
NO Jewelry including facial jewelry
NO Makeup or Nail Polish in the band block
Shoes MUST be clean & polished

*We do not have time or resources to do the above at the review. Please do everything before you get on the bus and use the time to get ready to put on the finishing touches. Bring supplies to put your hair up and have it ready for you to do it at the review.

Transportation:

Students MUST ride their assigned bus to and from the event . Parents must take their own vehicles.

You can pick up a slip giving students permission to go home with parents from the activities office. This MUST be done in advance.

There is no eating or drinking on the bus at any time.
