November 7th, 2025

A huge thank you to our entire community for contributing food, volunteering time, and helping spread the word about last week’s Franklin and Randall food drive! Thanks to your efforts, we packed over 100 bags of groceries to send home with families for the long weekend, plus 25 smaller bags that students could carry home in their backpacks.

We also want to celebrate how this came together: one parent had an idea, reached out to the PTO, and ran with it. Every parent in our school is part of the PTO, and if you have an idea and the energy to make it happen, the PTO board would love to support you! Reach out anytime - we’re happy to help connect you, amplify your idea, and tap into our amazing community of volunteers. It’s truly inspiring what this community can accomplish together.

Thank you for making it happen!

Join us for the November PTO meeting at 5 PM (Note Time Change) at Franklin Elementary school followed by our community engagement session on Restorative Justice in parenting

Community Event - Restorative Justice for Caregivers

FALL FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN

The annual fall fundraiser is a vital source of support for our Franklin-Randall school community. Your contribution has a direct impact on your child’s education by funding student programs and teacher support that otherwise wouldn’t be possible. Here’s what that looks like:

Supporting Students and Families

  • Community building events like Glow Ball, movie nights, end of year picnic and more
  • Social justice funds that enable school social workers to assist families with basic needs in times of crisis
  • Funding for student enrichment

Supporting Teachers and Schools

  • Upgrades to the schools’ open spaces
  • Teacher appreciation meals and activities
  • Classroom supplies and snacks
  • Curriculum and instructional support

No gift is too small, every dollar makes a difference!

PTO Grants Available

The Franklin-Randall PTO is excited to launch the grants program again for this year!  Teachers, students, and community members are invited to submit grant proposals for projects that align with school and community needs, but do not have allocated funding from the school. The available budget for 2025-2026 is $4,000 and each individual grant can be for up to $1,000.

Grant applications will be accepted from October 13th through November 24th. Applicants will be notified during the week of December 15th. Teachers, staff, students, caregivers, and community members are encouraged to apply!

The application, program details, and past funded projects can be found on the Grants page on the PTO website.

PTO Seeking Let Me Run Coaches!

The PTO is excited to support the Let Me Run program again this spring at Randall! This program, similar to Girls on the Run, is for boys in 3rd through 5th grade and focuses on running, teamwork, and character development.

To make it happen, we need more coaches! The commitment is 1–2 days per week after school (either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday; finalized in mid-December). Practices will begin after spring break and run through early to mid-May, ending with a celebratory 5K race. Coaches will complete a short training before the season begins.

We’re also looking for a program coordinator to help with logistics and communication - this person does not need to attend every practice.

If you’re interested in helping as a coach or coordinator, please reach out to Ian at ian.m.lowe@gmail.com.

Bonus: Coaches’ children receive guaranteed placement and bypass the registration lottery!
