Join the "Pack" to Stuff Packs for the Eagle Packs Program

Eagle Packs is a Frankton community program designed to provide students with nutritional items to eat over the weekend. Times are tough for many of our families and this is a supplement for those in need.

Eagle Packs will launch the first "packing day" tomorrow, Tuesday, Jan 2., at The Factory.  We will fill packs for students starting at 5 p.m. Students will receive their first Eagle Pack on  Friday, Jan 6.

The committee has been working hard to organize things to get the program up and running. We are fully funded for the first part of our soft launch which is January through May.   We are beginning to fund raise for the 2017-2018 Eagle Pack year.

At this time, we are serving over 86 students in the Frankton Schools (K through High School).  We see that number increasing as the program grows. Program costs for the 2017-18 year are estimated at $20,000.

The Eagle Packs Committee consists of Jenny Hoss, Amanda Johnson, Lisa LeMaster, Jeremy Johnson, Michale Clark, Pastor Donnie Herring, Gerry Smith, Pastor Roger Brooks, and Pastor Nathan Whybrew.

We will begin taking donations at the church for items in our Eagle Packs. One staple in the packs will be jars of peanut butter. A list of items needed will be publicized as menus are created.

It has been amazing and a blessing to see how the community has embraced this ministry.  The schools have had fundraising events to help.  The Students In Action group at the high school has made Eagle Packs a priority and one of the main initiatives for their year.

We are so excited to see all of this unfold and happen starting this week!  It's a blessing for sure.

If you have any other questions about the program, contact Jenny Hoss at jennyhoss71@gmail.com.
