Pastor Nathan Whybrew announced yesterday that Nick Smith will take over the youth group from Dan Knotts. Dan is not leaving us, just taking this opportunity to spend more time with Kellie and his three children: Allie, Emerson and Easton.

Nick will continue as the NOW music director in addition to his youth ministry responsibilities. He is a student at Anderson University. He plans to enter the seminary when he graduates from AU.

Join us in offering support and prayer for Nick in this new path, and thank Dan for his good work.

Help with Our First Tenderloin Dinner on March 18

30% of the proceeds we make from this dinner will support our youth camp fund.
There are two important things we can all do to make the Tenderloin Dinner this Saturday a success:
  1. Pies: Can each family who attends here regularly to bring 2 pies to The Factory between 2 and 3 p.m.?
  2. Volunteer: We would like everyone who can work that day to sign up to help.  We need everything from potato scrubbers at 10 a.m. to people to help clean up the kitchen and dining room at 7 p.m.

You can sign up with either Bobbie Welker at the 8:45 a.m. or Stacie Pickering at the 11 a.m. services.

FFUMC Upcoming Classes for Our Youth
Pastor Nathan leads two upcoming classes for our children and youth.

Communion Consideration Class for 2nd-6th Graders
Wednesday, March 29, all 2nd through 6th grade youth are invited to The Factory at 6 p.m. for a Communion Consideration Class . They will learn all about communion in the United Methodist Church, bake a loaf of bread, then help with communion at either the first or second service on Sunday, April 2.

Confirmation Classes for 7th, 8th and 9th Grade Youth
All 7th, 8th and 9th grade youth who attend church are invited to participate in a Confirmation Class.

Confirmation is an important step in a faith journey.
During middle or junior high years youth are seeking a sense of belonging, and belonging to the community of faith is an appropriate response.
Confirmation class offers guidance as young people learn more about God, the Methodist faith and our church.

The class will meet on Sundays after the second service. The dates are April 23 and 30, May 7, June 4 and 11 with the confirmation on Sunday, June 25, at both services.

Sign your child up for either of these classes by emailing the church office at  franktonfirstumc@gmail.com or leave a message at 765-754-7996 .
