Meetings / Office Hours This Week
Meetings Tonight:
The Pastor Parish Team meets at 6 p.m. and the Ad Council Team meets at 7 p.m. Both meetings are at the church. NOTE: basketball this month at The Factory will be April 5 and (tentatively) April 19.
 
Church office hours:
The church office will be open from 9 a.m. to 12 noon on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. The office is closed on Wednesday.  Information for the April 10 announcements should be sent to the church office by Thursday, April 7, at 9 a.m. Email us at franktonfirstumc@gmail.com or call 765-754-7996. Jerry Hoss to Deliver April 10 Sermon

Jerry Hoss will deliver the sermon on Sunday, April 10. The title is The In-escapable God. 

Join us at either the 8:45 a.m. traditional service in the church sanctuary, or at our 11 a.m. NOW (New Outlook Worship) service at The Factory.

Rev. David Schramm Series Starts April 17

Join us April 17, 18 and 19 for another inspiring series of sermons from Rev. David Schramm titled "Saying Goodbye." 

Rev. Schramm will preach on Sunday, April 17, at both the 8:45 and 11 a.m. services, then again at 7 p.m. Sunday, Monday and Tuesday evenings in the church sanctuary.

All are welcome! 

Center for Congregation Workshops 
There are some good workshops that you might be interested in that are sponsored by the Center for Congregations. The topics range from hospitality to communications to youth.


Lay Servant Academy April 30 & May 7    

Lay Servants serve the local church in any way in which their witness or leadership and service inspires the laity to deeper commitment to Christ and more effective discipleship. 

 
The Indiana Conference and North Central District of the Indiana UMC will offer lay servant training on two Saturdays:   April 30 and May 7, 2016, from  9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the  Kemp United Methodist Church,  228 N. Main St., Tipton.

Through continued study and training, lay servants undertake any of the following functions, giving primary attention to service within the local church. 
  1. Take initiative in giving leadership assistance and support to the program emphases of the church.
  2. Lead meetings for prayer, training, study and discussion.
  3. Conduct, or assist in conducting, services of worship and present sermons and messages when requested.
Local Church Lay Servants have completed the basic course for the lay speaking and a refresher course once every three years. They serve the local church in which they are members by witness of the spoken word, vital leadership service and care-giving ministry.
 
Certified Lay Servants have completed the basic course and at least once every three years an advanced course for lay speaking. They serve the local church in which they are members by witness of the spoken word, vital leadership service and care-giving ministry. In addition, they may serve in other churches in their district and annual conference.
 
Certified Lay Speakers and  Certified Lay Ministers are new specialty areas that require additional training. More information is available online here.
 
The cost for the school is $35 which includes your lunch for both weekends. Please make your check out to the "Indiana Conference." The registration form should be sent to the North Central District Center, P. O. Box 1447, Marion, IN 46952. The deadline for registration is  Friday, April 15.   If you have questions, please contact Jim Ottjes,  260-417-2473 .

Education Team Needs      
The Education Team is looking for a small used flat screen TV to use for our children during Sunday School each week. Also, a Sunday school teacher is needed for the third Sunday of the month.

Basketball Ministry Schedule
The next basketball ministry is tomorrow evening, April 5, at 7 p.m. in the back room of The Factory. 

Youth and "the young at heart" are invited to participate! 



Local Food Pantry Needs Donations                                            
The Frankton Community Food Pantry's biggest needs right now are: personal hygiene items, along with laundry and dish soap. They also need paper goods and breakfast cereal . Bins are located at the church and Factory.

The food pantry is open from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Tuesdays. It is located at the Frankton Christian Church's Family Life Center. Thanks for your extravagant generosity !
