Important Reminders for Fraternal Leaders

District Deputy

  • Attend your jurisdiction’s organizational meeting and then schedule your district meeting shortly thereafter using our recommended agenda and notes as a guide.
  • Your first step as DD is to check in with your councils and ensure they are positioned for a successful year.
  • Complete an Annual Report on Council Status (#944) for each council in your district, whether functioning or not. These easy online reports should be submitted right after the District Organization Meeting and are due by September 15.

Grand Knight

  • If your council will be running Cor this fraternal year, you are encouraged to appoint an Evangelization and Faith Formation (EFF) Director to support these efforts. Please submit your returning or newly appointed EFF Director by June 30 using this Council EFF Director Submission Form. This form supplements your council personnel report #365 as there is not a space for the EFF Director on the #365 at this time.
  • Familiarize yourself with the Fraternal Excellence Guide (#11619) and Protocol, Meetings, and Ceremonials (#11620).
  • Attend your district organizational meetings and contact your district deputy to schedule the Installation of Council Officers.
  • Craft an effective communication plan to engage all council members. Form a committee to verify contact information and then update Member Management.

Financial Secretary

Fourth Degree

  • Quarterly District Master training will continue on Monday July 22, 2024 at 8:00 PM EDT. We will discuss "New" Fraternal Year goals, VAVS Support, and our continued build up to the 4th Degree's 125th Anniversary in February of 2025. Please email me with any questions: Michael J. Porter, 4th Degree Director of Training: MJPKNIGHT9282@AOL.COM

A Warrior for Christ: The Life of Joe Reali

Knights of Columbus is proud to release a new short documentary (30 min) on the life of Joe Reali, a dynamic young man whose passion was evident both on the football field and in how he lived his Catholic faith. Following his sudden and tragic death in 2015, thousands turned out for his wake and funeral, where they shared stories about Joe’s sacrificial love for others and his care for the downtrodden. Today, the legacy of this devout and fun-loving young man lives on through the Joseph Mario Reali Knights of Columbus Council 16261 in Woodbury, Long Island.

The film will be released on July 4 and can be viewed at kofc.org/reali. Please help promote this inspiring film throughout your jurisdiction by sharing it with your council leaders, on your social media platforms, and with your friends and families.

Is Your Council Ready for the National Eucharistic Congress?

Knights of Columbus is a premier sponsor of the National Eucharistic Congress being held from July 17 – 21, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Knights and their families are invited to register for the Congress using discount code knights. Space is filling up, so register ASAP! In addition to attending yourself and sharing the registration discount code with your council, here are other ways you can be ready for the Congress:

  • Check out the K of C resources on the Eucharist at: www.kofc.org/eucharist and incorporate into your upcoming Cor sessions
  • Ask your Chaplain if he could speak about the Eucharist and/or National Eucharistic Congress at your next Council Meeting
  • Ask your Pastor if your council can assist with upcoming Holy Hours
