  • Meet regularly with your Pastor to discuss how your council can serve the parish and community.
  • Appoint a committee to work with the Financial Secretary on updating member contact information. It is essential that a council have a valid phone number and email address for every member on the roster. Use personal contacts, parish directories, internet searches, etc. to help gather the information.

Coats for Kids – Order your coats now!

Winter is quickly approaching - help kids in low-income families stay warm through the Coats for Kids program. High-quality, low-cost coats are available for purchase on knightsgear.com (US) and knightsgear.ca (Canada). 


Ask your state council how you can participate in its Black Friday or Boxing Day distribution events! Click here for guidelines and resources to run the program.  

Keep Christ in Christmas

Each year, we receive hundreds of high-quality entries from children for the Christ in Christmas Poster Contest. Reach out to the schools, homeschool groups, and CCD programs in your area to organize a contest for children in grades K-8. Council winners are due to their state councils by early February. For those jurisdictions with regional competitions, they are due in January. For more information, review the Keep Christ in Christmas Poster Contest Guidebook. Each year’s winners are also featured in Christmas cards that can be purchased by councils.

Quarterly Incentives for District Deputies

We are pleased to announce the incentive prizes available this year as part of our quarterly DD awards program. As a reminder, the qualification criteria this year are exactly the same as last year, as follows:

  • Q1 – attain 30% of district intake goal by September 30. AWARD – KofC branded 30 oz. Arctic Zone Titan Thermal tumbler.
  • Q2 – attain 70% of district intake goal by December 31. AWARD – KofC branded Eddie Bauer Stretch Soft Shell Vest.
  • Q3 – attain 100% of district intake goal by March 31. AWARD – KofC Branded Garmento Hanging Garment Bag
  • Q4 – attain Star District. AWARD – Choice of either Under Armour sunglasses with KofC branded soft carrying case OR KofC branded golf club head covers.

Paying Your Council's Supreme Council Assessments

Your council statements are available through the Order’s website www.kofc.org in the Reports tab in Officers Online and can be viewed and downloaded by any officer that has access to Officers Online, when viewing council data. The following council officers have access to Officers Online: grand knights, financial secretaries, deputy grand knights, advocates, treasurers, and membership directors.


Please note that a tutorial is available at www.kofc.org/viewstatements that will guide you through the steps to access and review your council’s billing statement online prior to submitting your payment for the amount due to the Supreme Council.

Renewing a Culture of Invitation

As announced last month, new materials and resources are available to help you renew the culture of invitation in your councils and communities. You can download and order these materials via Supplies Online (accessed via Officers Online). 


As you prepare to use these materials in your council's recruiting efforts, here's some other things to consider:

  • Did you attend the "Fishers of Men" webinar? If not, you can register and watch on demand here.
  • Do you have a Church Drive planned? Remember you can order your Church Drive Kit from Supplies Online. Your field agent can also assist you with your Church Drive.
  • How will you empower your council members to extend the invitation of brotherhood? Schedule an Exemplification of Charity, Unity and Fraternity so they have something to invite men to.
  • Have you seen this video highlighting Supreme Knight Patrick Kelly's remarks on a "Culture of Invitation" from his Annual Report.

Attendance at this event will be counted as a Fraternal Benefit Event for your council. A confirmation email will be sent to the Grand Knight after the event. You will not need to submit a Fraternal Benefits Event Report (#11077) unless one of the following issues exists:

  • You believe there were more attendees from your council than we recorded. If this is the case, contact your State Deputy for a list of recorded attendees and submit form 11077 to report additional member or member-eligible attendees not included on that report.
  • You held a watch party for the event where one person registered for the event, and multiple people attended. Submit a form 11077 for all member or member-eligible attendees that did not register on their own.
