January Per Capita Assessments

The Supreme Council levied Per Capita, Catholic Advertisement and Culture of Life assessments on January 1. In order to avoid automatic suspension, payment must be received by April 10. A reminder notice will be generated on March 10 for those councils that have not remitted payment. Council Billing Statements reflect the balance due and are located in the Reports tab in Officers Online. These statements can be viewed and downloaded by any officer that has access to Officers Online.

Grow Closer to Jesus Christ this Lent

As we enter the holy season of Lent, be sure that you, your family, and your council have all the resources you need to have a fruitful Lent focused on our Lord. This year, we invite you to join us on a Lenten Mission led by Fr. Jonathan Kalisch, O.P. Beginning yesterday, weekly discussion videos will be released and made available on social media as well as on our website. You can watch yesterday’s Ash Wednesday video here. Additionally, we’ve compiled a series of Lenten resources for you and your council members. They can be found online at kofc.org/lent. We wish you a faith-filled Lenten season!

Important Reminders for Fraternal Leaders

District Deputy

  • The Semiannual Council Audit Report (#1295) was due February 15. Please ensure all your councils have submitted this form. It is required to maintain the bonding on council financial secretaries and treasurers.
  • Conduct a quarterly district meeting to ensure your councils close the fraternal year strong. Review Star Council progress, council election procedures, and have council leaders share best practices.
  • Coordinate a Fraternal Benefit Seminar (virtual or in person) so every council has the opportunity to earn the Founder’s Award.

Grand Knight

Financial Secretary

  • Council Payments Due – the Per Capita, Catholic Advertising and Culture of Life levies are due to the Supreme Council before April 10. Failure to pay will result in suspension of the council. A suspended council may not be seated at their state convention, nor are its members eligible to be delegates to the Supreme Council Meeting and Convention. Your council assessment bill can be found in Officers Online on the “Reports” tab.

Fourth Degree

  • District Master quarterly training will be on April 21, 2025 at 8:00 PM EDT: "Assembly Financial Officer Training."
  • We will invite the District Masters, Faithful Navigators, Faithful Comptrollers, and Faithful Pursers to this meeting.
  • District Masters can email any questions to: Michael J. Porter, 4th Degree Director of Training: MJPKNIGHT9282@AOL.COM

Programs

International Program Awards

Now is the time to send state award submissions to your state council! You should aim to send submissions for Faith, Family, Community, and Life awards, as well as submissions for the Family of the Year and Blessed Michael McGivney Medal. Your state council must receive these in advance of your state convention so that there is enough time to decide on the winners and announce them at the convention. Click here for the summary of the process and all necessary forms.

ASAP Pass the Hat

Councils looking for ways to participate in the ASAP program and gain 2 program credits toward the Columbian Award can reach out to their state councils regarding the “Pass the Hat” incentive. Donations made to the state council’s fundraiser for pregnancy resource centers and maternity homes, especially during the state convention, will be matched at 25% with a cap of $12,500 per jurisdiction. Funds must be donated to the state council’s initiative between April 1 and May 31, 2025.

Good Friday

As we begin Lent, start planning how you will encourage our brother Knights and your parish community to fully participate in the beautiful and meaningful liturgies of Holy Week, especially the Good Friday Liturgy. For more information regarding Good Friday, visit www.kofc.org/goodfriday.

Fishers of Men: Council Banner Incentive

Men are waiting to be invited to join the Knights of Columbus. In 2023, we commissioned a study that showed there are about 7 million men willing to join organizations like the Knights of Columbus. They haven’t joined yet because they haven’t been invited to do so. These men are in your parishes. In the same pews you sit in. Jesus called his disciples to follow him and become fishers of men. Now, it’s your turn to become fishers of men and extend the hand of brotherhood.

Watch Video

As a reward to councils who are effective “fishers of men,” we are pleased to announce that every council that brings in 125% of its annual Membership Goal between March 1 and June 30 will receive their choice of a new customized council banner or customized Cor banner and Cor resources for parish promotion.* Click here for the incentive rules. If your council’s annual goal is 8, then 125% of that is 10…if you bring in 10 new or readmitted members between March 1 – June 30…you win!

Resources to help you extend invitations to men in your parish are available for download and ordering through Supplies Online. Log into Supplies Online, scroll to “Featured Items,” and click on the “Fishers of Men” catalog. There you will find customizable online join cards, invitations, brochures and informational pieces to give to prospective members.

Click here to download the Fishers of Men guidebook, which will provide you with detailed information about how to use each of these pieces.

We will provide all grand knights with periodic updates on how their council is doing, and we look forward to sending your council personalized, branded KofC/Cor materials when you bring in 125% of your annual membership goal between March 1 – June 30!

*Incentive applies to insurance jurisdictions only.
