Incentive Home Stretch: You Don't Have to Do it Alone

There are still two more weeks to achieve 100% of your membership quota and meet the minimum requirement to compete to win a prize as part of the Fishers of Men: Extend the Invitation incentive! (Click here for full details on the requirements.)

In this home stretch, remember you don’t have to do it alone. Reach out to your district deputy for support and to share ideas. Email your pastor and ask him if he knows any men at the parish who would be a good fit for the Knights. Ask each of the members of your council to personally invite just one man — a friend, a relative, a fellow parishioner.

Thank you for your hard work in extending the invitation and welcoming more men into our brotherhood!

Go for Two – Watch Party Events!

This past August, Supreme Knight Patrick Kelly renewed his call for all Knights to embrace a culture of invitation to our brotherhood. Specifically, he asked that every Knight invite two men to join the Order in the next year.

One way to Go for Two this fall is by hosting council Watch Party Events this football season. Whether college football or NFL, a watch party is a family-friendly, low-pressure way to help your community get to know your council.

Check out the Watch Party Guide and follow our 5-step process to host a successful event in your area. Make sure to team up with your local K of C agent to maximize your success!

Don’t forget, members who recruit two men between September 1st and December 31st will be entered into a drawing to receive a cash prize of $1,500*! Details can be found here.

Membership Enrollment cards and supporting materials can be found on the Supply Store under: Membership & Recruitment >> Membership Enrollment Cards

* For insurance jurisdictions only. Cash prize is in USD. Other restrictions apply.

Important Reminders for Fraternal Leaders

District Deputy

Grand Knight

  • Contact your Pastor to discuss how your council can assist him during the Christmas season.
  • If you have not already done so, formalize a plan to ear the Star Council Award.
  • If your council has any newly appointed officers, remember to submit a Report of Officers Chosen for the Term (#185) or Service Program Personnel Report (#365) to keep their contact information up to date and make sure they receive important correspondence from the supreme office.
  • Council EFF Director Submission Form: This form needs to be submitted each fraternal year, even if your council EFF director is the same as last year.
  • Once submitted, council EFF directors will receive a weekly series of 6-8 onboarding emails filled with practical tips and planning tools for a successful year.
  • Cor Quarterly Report Form: Please remind your EFF director that this form needs to be completed now as the first quarter of the fraternal year ended on September 30.
  • This form is vital in tracking the progress of Cor across the Order and in identifying how best we can support your EFF director and his team.

Programs

Pilgrim Icon – Sacred Heart of Jesus Home Enthronement

The Enthronement of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is an optional part of the Pilgrim Icon Program where Knights and their families can consecrate themselves to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and enshrine His Image in their home. Resources for the home enthronement can be found here, ordered on Supplies Online or from the Knights of Columbus CIS website.

Ultrasound Initiative

Earlier this year, the Order surpassed 2,000 ultrasounds placed since the start of the program in 2009!

As ultrasound technology continues to improve, encourage councils to work to provide new ultrasound machines to pregnancy resource centers so they may better serve women and save babies. Supreme will provide 50% of the cost of the machine if councils donate the other 50%. Councils should capitalize on their new connections with pregnancy resource centers made through the ASAP program to place more machines this fraternal year and help the order continue to build a culture of life. Use these resources to get started: Ultrasound Guide Sheet and Guide Book.

U.S. Bishops' Respect Life Novena

Join thousands of Catholics across the country in praying for the protection of human life! Starting on October 22nd participants are invited to join the Respect Life novena to pray for, learn about, and offer up small sacrifices for the protection of human life at all stages.
