REMINDER: MONTHLY COUNCIL SPOTLIGHT

Each month, as part of our FLA Live! Fraternal Webinar Series, we feature a council that is doing great things in the areas of membership growth, programs, evangelization, or faith formation. In order to keep this feature going we need to hear from you!

For December’s webinar, we want to feature your councils' Advent and Christmas stories! If your council has a heartfelt story, successful membership drive, or special Christmas program please email fraternaltraining@kofc.org for a chance to be interviewed and featured!

Make an Impact on Giving Tuesday!

Giving Tuesday is Dec. 2, and we’re encouraging members to give to the United in Charity Appeal. Times are hard for a lot of families in our communities, and many people are looking to help. Please encourage the members you work with to make a gift at http://www.kofc.org/donate

Here are some tips:

  • Encourage early gifts — we welcome giving before Dec. 2!
  • Remind members that every dollar raised goes directly to support initiatives like Disaster Relief, Coats for Kids, Ultrasound, ASAP, Warriors to Lourdes and others.
  • Share social media posts from the official Knights of Columbus accounts on Giving Tuesday.
  • Lead by example by making a donation today!

Thank you for your help spreading the word. When we unite in charity, we can make a great impact for those in need!

Prepare the Way 2025

Join brother knights in prayer and reflection to prepare for the coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Starting tomorrow, we will release weekly videos on Facebook and YouTube to guide us through the Advent season. Watch the video reflecting on the Solemnity of Christ the King now and share with your council members.

New Customer Service Email for U.S. Supplies Online

Our U.S. Supplies Online vendor SLWM has rebranded under the name Supply Logic and their new email domains will have supplylogic.com in them. Please note that the new customer service email for Supplies Online is customerservice@Supplylogic.com. Emails sent to the old SLWM address will be forwarded for a brief period of time to ensure there are no disruptions. Please note this only applies to the US Supplies Online store; there have been no changes to our Canadian vendor.

Father McGivney's Legacy of Care

When Brad Wolf, a past grand knight of Ketteler Council 1824 in Windthorst, Texas, passed away suddenly in 2023, his decision to obtain a Knights of Columbus insurance policy became a lifeline for his family — allowing his wife, Dena, and their daughter, Riley, to remain in their home, free from the fear of financial hardship. “That’s what the Knights of Columbus is all about,” said Michael Bryant, Wolf’s insurance agent. “We’re there to assist that person that is left behind, to make sure that they're cared for, for the rest of their life.”

In their story, the vision of Blessed Michael McGivney comes alive once more: that no widow or orphan should be left without protection, and that love and faith can endure even in the face of loss. Consider sharing this story with the members in your councils and help them protect their families from the financial hardship that could unfold in the case of a tragedy.

On Demand Fraternal Training: the Road to Success

Visit kofc.org/training to locate online training for state, council, district and assembly officers, an archive of fraternal webinars, and important resources that will assist you in navigating your leadership role.

The mid-point of the fraternal year is a great time to brush up on council finances. The Operations Training – Finances page on kofc.org offers guidance on fundraising, creating a council budget, and learning the basics of using the Member Billing application on Officer Online. There is even a training that focuses on assisting new councils to get their finances on track.

Our helpful list of Suggested Training by Officer Role highlights the training sessions that are recommended for your officer position. Training is reviewed on a continuing basis, so you will always get the most up-to-date information. Best of all, these on-demand sessions are available to view at any time, on your own schedule, and the average length of each session is only 30 minutes!

Important Reminders for Fraternal Leaders

  • Review the Star District requirements to make sure you are on track to earn this award. By now, each council in your district should have recruited new members and participated in a Fraternal Benefits Event. If not, help them accomplish these goals.
  • Thank you for the 944 Cor data. It is very helpful and is already being utilized by Supreme and State EFF Directors.
  • There will be a big push at the Mid-year Meeting for councils to complete the Council EFF Director Submission Form to help close the gap between the 944 Cor data and the number of Council EFF Directors submitted.

  • Thank you to all Grands Knights who have submitted the Council EFF Director Submission Form this fraternal year. If you haven't completed this form, please do so as soon as possible so we can include your Council EFF Director in all Cor communications.
  • Once submitted, Council EFF Directors will receive a weekly series of 6-8 Cor onboarding emails filled with practical tips and planning tools.

New Faith in Action Programs

Eight new Faith in Action programs have been released as part of our efforts to welcome more men into the Order and better serve the spiritual and material needs of their families and communities. These programs fall under the Order’s existing categories of Faith, Family, Community, and Life and give councils new opportunities to engage their parishes. While these programs appeal to all councils, no matter their demographics, their unique strength lies in their ability to unify diverse parish communities through prayer and service, especially those parishes with Hispanic Catholic cultures and traditions.

There’s Still Time to Complete the Annual Survey!

By now, you and the members of your council have received the 2025 Annual Survey in the mail. This survey is an opportunity for each brother Knight to update us so that we can better support him and his family. The survey can be completed and returned via mail OR completed online by following the instructions in the packet. If someone in your council has lost or did not receive a packet, they can complete the survey online using their member number at this link (https://survey.kofc.org/).

Encourage your council members to complete their survey and take advantage of all the exclusive benefits offered to you as a Brother Knight. Remember, every Knight that completes this year’s Annual Survey will be entered for a chance to win a Knights of Columbus RTIC Cooler.
