Take Our Mini Survey - Coats for Kids

This week we will focus on one of our flagship programs, Coats for Kids. Please complete this survey to help us gauge the health of the program. It will take less than a minute.

Please complete the Coats for Kids survey even if you haven’t done the program. Your reasons for not participating are just as valuable as responses from those participating.

NEW - Fraternal Benefits Event Council Report

We have made significant improvements to the process for reporting council fraternal benefits events. These updates will make the lives of fraternal leaders and general agents much easier. Click here to be taken to the simple online form.

Grand knights will submit this form at the end of each event. It will be simultaneously delivered to the Supreme Council and General Agent. Councils will receive immediate credit for their submission. The general agent will have the option to dispute the submission, and if he does, the council will be notified so they can rectify any outstanding issue. A video tutorial on how to complete the form will be provided in the next Fraternal Leader Advisory.

2022-23 Council / District Award Notifications

Official notification of council and district awards will be sent in the next few weeks.

Invite & Engage

The Supreme Council is happy to announce an exciting program of membership incentives for the 2023-2024 fraternal year for jurisdictions, district deputies and grand knights*. Click here for all the details.

*Only insurance jurisdictions are eligible for district deputy incentive awards.

NEW Annual Report on Council Status (#944)

District deputies now have to submit only one annual report for each council in their district. The new online form is a simple yes/no twenty two question survey style report that can be completed on your phone. The due date is September 15, so it is imperative that DDs meet with their councils over the summer. The new format will provide actionable data for timely support of councils.

NEW Founders’ Award Requirements

For the 2023-24 fraternal year, councils must host (or promote) two fraternal benefit seminars (in person or virtual) per year. Each council must have a minimum number of member or member-eligible attendees at each seminar: 10 for councils with 99 or fewer members, and 14 for councils with 100 or more members. Collaborate with the field agents in your district to help all your councils earn the Founders’ Award. This will also help you earn Star District.

Programs

Coats for Kids

Outside we have warm weather, but it’s never too early to start thinking about the Coats for Kids program. Coats are now available and ready to order on knightsgear.com in the United States and knightsgear.ca in Canada. This year, we will be offering a limited quantity of toddler coats. This will allow your council to provide coats to children as young as one through high school. If your council is interested in learning more about this program, please visit www.kofc.org/coats for more information.

Keep Christ in Christmas Poster Contest

To start the new Fraternal year, a few changes were made to the Keep Christ in Christmas Poster Contest. The categories will now be changed to grade instead of age. Kindergarten will have its category to make winning more manageable for that grade, so they are only competing against other Kindergartens. For more information about these changes, please visit www.kofc.org/Christmas.

ASAP (Aid and Support After Pregnancy) Program to Continue

On the 1 year anniversary of the repeal of Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Knight announced that Knights across the U.S. and Canada raised more than $5 million to support mothers and their babies through the ASAP program. Through the program, for every $500 a council donates to a pregnancy resource center or maternity home, Supreme will donate $100 more (up to $400 for $2,000 donated). Visit kofc.org/asap to learn more.

Eucharistic Processions

The National Eucharistic Revival has entered its second phase – the Year of Parish Revival. Ask your pastor how you can help foster Eucharistic devotion and host Holy Hours and Eucharistic Processions as part of this important movement of the Holy Spirit. Visit kofc.org/eucharist for resources.
