District Deputy

• Check on the progress of each of your councils in earning the Star Council Award. Work with the field agent to conduct a district Fraternal Benefit Seminar. 
• Encourage councils to appoint a nominating committee to recommend officers for the next fraternal year. Have the committee look beyond the usual volunteers to find a good mix of candidates representing fresh ideas and sound council practices. 

Grand Knight

• Submit the Columbian Award application (#SP-7) as soon as your council has completed 16 program activities or credits.  You should continue to submit Fraternal Program Report forms (#10784) for all additional programs. 
• Hold your council officer elections between May 1 and June 15 and submit the Report of Officers Chosen for the Term (#185) by June 30.

Financial Secretary

• Timely processing of member additions and changes is critical as we approach the end of the fraternal year. If your council is on track to earn Star Council, all form 100s need to be processed by June 30. You can submit a paper form 100 or use the Candidate Tab on Officers Online.
• Immediately after officer elections submit the Report of Officers Chosen for the Term (#185) and Service Program Personnel Report (#365) using the Member Management application. View a short 'How To' video on using Member Management here. These forms are essential for effective communication between the Supreme Council and fraternal leaders.

Fourth Degree

• Quarterly District Master training will continue on Monday April 22, 2024 at 8:00 PM EST. We will discuss end of Fraternal Year planning (award applications, making sure forms are submitted, preparing for the next Fraternal Year) and our continued build up to the 4th Degree's 125th Anniversary in February of 2025. March for Life in Canada 

The National March for Life in Canada will take place on Parliament Hill in Ottawa on May 9, 2024. Provincial marches in Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbian will take place on the same day.

International Family Day

Organize a Family Prayer Night for the families of your parish as part of International Family Day (May 15). Councils that are part of larger parishes can consider offering an entire week of activities for Family Week. Click here for ideas.

The “2024 Economic Outlook” webinar presented by Knights of Columbus Asset Advisors (KoCAA) in late January is now available ON DEMAND through April 30th. Councils may use this recording to host a Fraternal Benefit Night (FBE) as a watch party or by allowing members to watch individually.

A council must coordinate with its local agency before hosting an event. The promotional flyer and email templates below have been provided to invite members and non-members and promote participation at your parish.

These events are an opportunity for members to hear how to help protect their financial future with the Knights of Columbus. This informative webinar will highlight the importance of life insurance and is an incredible educational opportunity for all!

The United in Charity Annual Appeal is the annual fundraising campaign for Knights of Columbus Charities, Inc., a registered charity in both the US and Canada. Funds raised through this effort are put to work around the world wherever it’s needed most in support of work that aligns to Fr. McGivney’s mission. Our goal this year is to raise $30 million USD to fund these efforts. Every member will soon receive a mailed appeal envelope with more information on this year’s appeal and how to make a contribution.

As a fraternal leader, there are four ways you can help. First, you can make a personal donation to this effort. All donations are tax deductible according to US/Canada tax laws. Second, you can encourage council members to make a donation. We encourage you to discuss the Annual Appeal at your next council meeting to make sure members understand this effort. Third, you and your brother Knights can consider making a contribution from your council or assembly. Finally, you can share the work of the Annual Appeal with family, friends and neighbors who may wish to contribute.

When we join together in the United in Charity Appeal, we can do so much more to build up the Church and the world around us.
