Important Reminders for Fraternal Leaders

District Deputy

Grand Knight

  • Submit the Columbian Award application (#SP-7) as soon as your council has completed 16 program activities or credits You should continue to submit Fraternal Program Report forms (#10784) for all additional programs. 
  • Craft an effective communication plan to engage all council members. Form a committee to verify contact information and then update Member Management.
  • Ensure timely processing of your RSVP and Food for Families refund applications by gathering the necessary supporting documentation and submitting the forms early.

Financial Secretary

  • If your council’s annual accounting period ends Dec. 31, then May 15 is the deadline to submit the proper IRS form 990 (US Councils only). Ensure that this paperwork is filed.
  • Immediately after council elections the Report of Officers Chosen for the Term (#185) and Service Program Personnel Report (#365) should be submitted via the Member Management portal of Officers Online. This method immediately updates the Supreme Council system at the start of the new fraternal year with the name and contact information for all officers and directors of your council. Watch this short video tutorial to walk you through the easy process.

Fourth Degree

  • Quarterly District Master training will continue on Monday July 22, 2024 at 8:00 PM EDT. We will discuss "New" Fraternal Year goals, VAVS Support, and our continued build up to the 4th Degree's 125th Anniversary in February of 2025. Please email me with any questions: Michael J. March for Life in Canada 

The National March for Life in Canada will take place on Parliament Hill in Ottawa on May 9, 2024. Provincial marches in Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia will take place on the same day.

Earn a Grant from Supreme for your Mother’s Day ASAP Fundraiser!

Is your council hosting a Mother’s Day fundraiser for ASAP? Be sure to submit your ASAP Grant Application by June 30th to receive a grant from Supreme to benefit the pregnancy resource center or maternity home your council supported.

Hockey Challenge

This program can be run any time of the year, on ice/rink in the winter or in a parking lot during those warm days. When councils think about fun, easy-to-run programs during the summer, please consider running the Hockey Challenge program. Is your council on track to earn Star Council?

There are already 268 councils that have earned the Star Council Award. Review the criteria and finish the year strong so your council can join this list of high performers.

Is Your Council Ready for the National Eucharistic Congress?

Knights of Columbus is a premier sponsor of the National Eucharistic Congress being held from July 17 – 21, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Knights and their families are invited to register for the Congress using discount code knights. Space is filling up, so register ASAP! In addition to attending yourself and sharing the registration discount code with your council, here are other ways you can be ready for the Congress:

  • Check out the K of C resources on the Eucharist at: www.kofc.org/eucharist and incorporate into your upcoming Cor sessions
  • Ask your Chaplain if he could speak about the Eucharist and/or National Eucharistic Congress at your next Council Meeting
  • Ask your Pastor if your council can assist with upcoming Holy Hours or Eucharistic Processions for Corpus Christi (June 2)
