Fred Cone Park Lighting Improvements

2801 E. University Ave.

The City of Gainesville’s Wild Spaces & Public Places Department and the Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs are pleased to announce new sports lights at Fred Cone Park’s basketball courts and the park's southernmost multipurpose field.

The basketball courts are now lit from dusk until 10 p.m. to provide extended hours for play. The courts operate on a first-come, first-served basis.

Additionally, lighting for the multipurpose field, located just south of the basketball courts, can be reserved from dusk until 10 p.m. The field can be reserved for $36 for a 2-hour time block through the City of Gainesville Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department by calling 352-393-8538 or emailing PRCAreservations@gainesvillefl.gov.

Musco Sports Lighting, LLC completed lighting improvements costing $454,586, funded by the Wild Spaces and Public Places half-cent sales tax.
