Update on former Museum building

The development team working on the re-use of the former Fredericksburg Area Museum headquarters property at 1011 Princess Anne St./215 William St. gave an update about their plans at this past week's Economic Development Breakfast.

Lofts at Frederick Street approved

Developers of a mixed-use project that will involve the rehabilitation of a 133-year-old former coffee warehouse in downtown Fredericksburg along with the construction of 21 new residential units got a green light from City Council on Tuesday.

This week's edition of the "Freehling Finds" video series highlights the runner-friendly nature of Fredericksburg.

'We just loved the location'

McLean-based Tradition Homes paid $1.92 million for the land behind Fredericksburg Square that will become Riverview. One of the developers told the FLS: "We just loved the location in Fredericksburg and the fact that it was one block off Caroline Street and offered great commuter access for folks who want to commute, and access to the park that's going to be built next year, and the river view."

J.F. Fick Inc., the Fredericksburg region's exclusive Anheuser-Busch beverage distributor, has been sold to the largest Anheuser-Busch distributor in Virginia.

New store opens on Caroline Street

Pamdora's has opened at 1109 Caroline St. in downtown Fredericksburg. The business features pottery, jewelry, paintings, photography, glass and fiber art, and more.
Plans detailed for Caroline Street escape room

Up to eight people at a time will be locked in a 13- by 15-foot room and will have to solve puzzles in order to escape before time runs out.  
Lafayette Boulevard project on BZA agenda

Olde Towne Carriages' plans for a new facility at 631 Lafayette Blvd. that would include both a storage/loading area for the business' carriages and upper-level residential will be before Fredericksburg's Board of Zoning Appeals for a zoning variance Monday.

Restaurant Week to kick off January 12

Downtown Fredericksburg's annual Winter Restaurant Week will begin January 12 and run through January 21.

Sign is up at Mian Noodle House!

The restaurant, which will be operated by the owners of Umi, is expected to open in the coming months at 1005 Princess Anne St. A significant renovation is under way. The upstairs space is still available for lease.
Fredericksburg police hand out holiday cheer
