Fred Motzko courageously gave up his battle with multiple sclerosis and went home to be with his Lord on July 12, 2017, with his wife by his side. He was born February 15, 1950, to Al and Irene Motzko in Wadsworth.
Fred was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Vietnam. He was a member of Firestone Park United Methodist Church, American Legion, Ohio Sportsman Club, NRA, Paralyzed Veterans of America, and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. He loved Cleveland sports teams, NASCAR, family, and was an avid outdoorsman.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Michael.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Bertha; daughter, Holly (Jimmy) Moody (nee Motzko); sisters, Carol (Jim) Birkbeck, Julie Ruckman, Catherine (Fred) Raack, and Chris Norman; aunt, Lois Yoder; uncles, Merle and Homer Gaugler; step-mother, Tammy Motzko; numerous nieces, nephews and longtime friend, John Fields.

Friends may call at Firestone Park United Methodist Church, 250 N. Firestone Blvd., Akron OH on Monday, July 17, 2017, from 9 to 11 a.m., with service beginning at 11 a.m., Pastor Randy May officiating.
Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park with military honors rendered by Firestone Post 3383.
