Free Volunteer Educational Opportunities - August 2020
In an effort to support our community of volunteer leaders during
these unexpected challenges, Volunteer Fairfax is offering a
series of  FREE volunteer management educational opportunities.
Working with Volunteers of Every Generation
Tuesday, August 4th 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Whether you are Generation Y, Builder, Boomer or anything in between, you may be working with volunteers at every age. At this webinar, we will talk about recruiting, retaining and recognizing volunteers with the lens of leading the different age groups…no matter where YOU fall in the generational breakdown. Each group has it special characteristics and challenges. Join us to discuss how to get the most out of your volunteers of every generation.

Turning Volunteers into Donors
Thursday, August 13th  9:30 am – 10:30 am
So which comes first-the volunteers or the donor? Did you know that 42 percent of donors first volunteered before they gave to an organization? An average volunteer is FOUR TIMES as likely to donate as someone who doesn't volunteer and they typically give TEN TIMES as much! So, some of your best donor sources may already be invested in your organization by giving you that other gift…time. What's the risk to ask the givers of time for money, too? It depends. We will talk about setting priorities, boundaries and goals.

Volunteer Management Roundtable
Friday, August 21st 9:30 am – 10:30 am
Do you lead, coordinate or manage volunteers for your organization?  Join us to exchange ideas and share experiences with other nonprofits. We will focus this discussion on current volunteering issues faced by your organization. The topic is different at each Roundtable. We will also leave time for discussion, problem-solving and networking.
Dial-in information will be provided to you prior to the webinar. If you have any questions about Volunteer Fairfax’s educational opportunities, just ask! Contact Susan Sanow .
