Monday Morning Yoga With Katie

Join movement artist-in-residence Katie Mondays at 10:30 am. This gentle yoga class is for all levels- beginners are welcome! Start your week in the best way by joining Katie as she leads you through movement in a supportive setting.

Songwriting 101 With Shelby

Songwriting 101 With Shelby

Singer and songwriter Shelby Blondell leads this new three week series, Songwriting 101. Learn the fundamentals of songwriting and story telling to bring your ideas to life. Each class will feature a different prompt and instructions to guide the creation of exciting and high quality songs.

Movement for Multiple Sclerosis (MS)

Movement for Multiple Sclerosis (MS)

Come together with movement artist-in-residence Deborah Riley as she leads movement classes crafted for participants with Multiple Sclerosis. Experience mindful movement from the comfort of your home. Email Deborah Riley at deborahrileydanceprojects@gmail.com to sign up for classes.

Creativity Jumpstart Summer Sessions

Visual artist-in-residence Jennifer Wilkin Penick leads participants through a fun hour of art-making with people from all over the world! Explore your creativity and gain inspiration in these special summer sessions.

Mindful Mixed Media Doodling

Summer Sessions

Mindful Mixed Media Doodling

Artists-in-residence Martha Spak and Lauren Kingsland join forces this summer to continue their popular series, Mindful Mixed Media Doodling. Each week, participants explore themes of nature. Spak and Kingsland lead the way to create works of art in watercolor and fabric, guided by the theme.

Hands On Mindfulness

Hands On Mindfulness

Visual artist-in-residence Lauren Kingsland leads participants through thoughtful and wellness based arts practices guided by her new book, Hands On Mindfulness. Practice the principles of intention, mindfulness, embodiment, and more through the joys of art making.


Hands on Mindfulness meets:

  • Every Thursday in July at 12 pm

Writing With Others

Writing With Others

Join Writing With Others and writer-in-residence Dylan Klempner to workshop various modes of writing. Set aside time for yourself to develop your writing abilities. During each session, writers receive a thoughtful and curated prompt, and have the opportunity to receive feedback in a supportive and encouraging environment.


Writing With Others meets:

  • Friday, July 11th at 2:30 pm
  • Friday, July 18th at 2:30 pm
  • Friday, July 25th at 2:30 pm

Poem Submissions Are Now Open

for Lombardi Voices

Poetry submissions for the newest edition of Lombardi Voices are now open!


Please submit no more than one poem to the Lombardi Voices Poem Submission Form with a title in pdf or doc format to be considered for the publication. Anyone that is part of the Georgetown Lombardi Arts and Humanities Program community is invited to contribute, including you!


Submissions are due by Sunday, August 31st.

The current edition of Lombardi Voices can be purchased on Amazon.com. An online Lombardi Voices Winter 2024 version is also available free of charge.

The Georgetown Lombardi Arts & Humanities Program (AHP) promotes a holistic approach to healthcare for patients, caregivers, physicians, nurses, staff members, and students through the use of music, dance, expressive writing, and visual arts. These therapeutic modalities are normally provided throughout the MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C., and online through Eventbrite courses. The AHP is a program of the Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center.
