Infection Preventionist Specialized Training (IPCO)

Available to one person per nursing center.

AHCA/NCAL’s Infection Preventionist Specialized Training (IPCO) is recommended for individuals responsible for or interested in infection prevention and control (IP&C). It is specifically tailored to train Infection Preventionists (IPs) in nursing centers though many Administrators and those in leadership roles find it useful as well.

CMS mandates that every nursing center have a designated and specially trained Infection Preventionist who is running a comprehensive infection prevention and control program.

The Comprehensive IPCO Training Covers:

COVID-19
Other common pathogens
Multidrug-resistant organisms
Antibiotic stewardship
Water management and more

Registration Is a Multi-Step Process:

HCA Portal

1. Go to HCA Portal and register. Once you register, you will receive an email with a code.

2. Visit the ahcancalED website and use the code that was emailed to you to access the course at no cost.

3. You will need to CREATE AN ACCOUNT.

4. Once you have an account, and are signed in to the ahcancalED website, you can add the course to your cart.
