I mentioned on Tuesday in the "regular" Feldenkrais Institute e-mail that I was going to send you an extra message this week. This is it and I'm sending it because Alan Questel is coming to teach a couple of workshops in June and he's such an outstanding teacher (along with being a terrific guy), that he deserves his own e-mail.

Alan's workshops are titled, Choice and The Challenge of Pleasure, The Pleasure of Challenge, and he's one of the best I know at taking concepts like those, illuminating them thoroughly through a Feldenkrais Method lens and, at the same time, leaving you with concrete ideas and/or skills relating to the topic that you can directly apply in your own life.

I don't often write "testimonials" but I wrote one for Alan:

Alan Questel has a true gift for creating processes, exercises and workshops that beautifully utilize and, at the same time, illuminate the Feldenkrais Method. I've taken three of Alan's workshops, all of which have been educational, which I expected, and they've also been fun, which I've now come to count on. What I've learned has always stayed with me long after the workshop has ended. Alan is a terrific teacher.

... and every word of it is sincere.

All the details on Alan's June workshops are below. If you sign-up for both, you'll get 10% off the registration price for both. To get the bundle discount, call 212-727-1014.

At the top of the column at the left, click the link, "Balance" to read a great article by Alan on (guess what?) balance. If you want to get a slightly different preview of Alan's style, take a look at the website for his business, Uncommon Sensing, by clicking the link at the bottom of the column at left.

By the way, as if all this other stuff weren't enough, the guy's got his own entry in Wikipedia. Take a look by clicking here.

Please, take my advice and do what you have to do to come to these workshops. You will not regret it.

All the best,

Mark Hirschfield

Thursday, June 14, 6:30-9:30 pm

Did you ever wish you had more choices available to you? Maybe you do; maybe you aren't looking in the right places. Sometimes it's right under your nose, waiting to be revealed. In this evening workshop with guest Feldenkrais Trainer Alan Questel, we will explore choice: investigating and discovering new ways of creating them.

Tuition: $60 by June 7th, $70 thereafter. (Members: $40)

The Challenge of Pleasure,
The Pleasure of Challenge
Saturday and Sunday, June 16th and 17th,
10:00 am-4:30 pm

Did you ever think it could be a challenge for you to have more pleasure in your life? Or could you imagine experiencing greater pleasure when you are faced with a challenge? Pleasure and challenge, experiences that are too often exclusive of each other, will be the focus of this two-day workshop.

Utilizing Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement lessons you will safely and enjoyably inquire into your own process. The result will be an enhancement of your understanding of what you feel, how you relate and how you respond to the challenge of finding more pleasure in your life and the pleasure of meeting a challenge.

Tuition: $160 by June 9th, $190 thereafter. (Members: 20% off)
