Let me beging my sermon today with a disclaimer-I do NOT want to write this!!
It is humbling and embarrassing, BUT an honest TESTIMONY that needs to be heard...
I am deathly AFRAID of doctors and submitting myself to another custody/care.
On the one hand, that is a noble quest.
WE well know that physicians are NOT infallible and too often are unable to cure what ails us:
Mark 5:25-26 (KJV)
25 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,
26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,
WE are also instructed NOT to follow King Asa's deathly mistake:
2 Chronicles 16:12 (KJV)
12 And Asa in the thirty and ninth year of his reign was diseased in his feet, until his disease was exceeding great: yet in his disease he sought not to the LORD, but to the physicians.
Asa's mistake was in NOT seeking the Lord FIRST- “He sought not to the Lord, BUT to the physicians.”
2 Chronicles 16:13 (KJV)
13 And Asa slept with his fathers, and died in the one and fortieth year of his reign.
WE also know that Jesus came-NOT for “they that are whole” but for “they that are sick!!”
Mark 2:17 (KJV)
17 When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
Jesus died for and Jesus CARES for us when WE are sick, hurting, and AFRAID!!!
In my feeble defense, I, as a Pastor, am too often the one who deals with the aftermath of failed physician attempts!!! I have dealt with untold instances of pain and grief in others.
I, also, am also “well acquainted with grief.” PS-not, IN ANY SHAPE OR FORM AS THE LORD JESUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Isaiah 53:3 (KJV)
3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
Here is my embarrassing point and WONDERFUL TESTIMONY of the GOODNESS and TRUTH of God.
My cardiologist prescribed me a stress test SEVERAL year ago-YEARS.
I have refused-IN FEAR- for all this time, claiming and clinging to the fear of “what if............?????”
Can anybody reading this say Amen?????
I FEARED the TRUTH that a stress test COULD reveal-
I COULD NOT HANDLE THE TRUTH!!!

I FINALLY did the stress test yesterday and PASSED with flying colors!!! PRAISE THE LORD!!!
I cannot tell you how FREEING it is to KNOW THE TRUTH!!!!
TRUTH is much easier to PREACH as it is to LIVE!!!!
I CLOSE WITH THIS:
“DANGER FEARED IS FOLLY
DANGER FACED IS FREEDOM!!!!”
FREE AT LAST-IT IS FINISHED! LIFE HAS TRIUMPED OVER DEATH.
JESUS REIGNS, BLESS THE NAME OF GOD ALMIGHTY-
