E-NEWSLETTER: SEPTEMBER 2020
Pumpkins in the Park to Become
Free COVID Testing Site
Due to COVID 19, we have made the difficult decision to postpone our annual harvest festival, Pumpkins in the Park, to 2021. However, the health and well-being of our community remains a priority for us. In lieu of our annual harvest festival this year, we are partnering with the Santa Clara County Health and the Children's Discovery Museum to provide a free COVID testing site at the Museum.

The testing site will be open from 10AM to 3PM on Saturday, October 10th at the Children's Discovery Museum front entrance. No appointment is necessary to be tested. Please wear a mask and be prepared to practice social distancing while in line and inside the testing site. Parking is available at the Woz Way lot across from the Museum. Transit access at the Children's Discovery Museum Station.

Thanks to the Knight Foundation and our other partners for continuing to support the health and well-being of our community, and thank you for continuing to do the work in keeping our community safe - wearing a mask, washing your hands, staying socially distanced, and getting tested regularly.
Guadalupe River Art Walk Collaboration
We are excited to announce that the Guadalupe River Park Conservancy will be collaborating with POW! WOW! Now, more than ever, we understand how critical natural spaces and public art are to improving the quality of life in our community.

Join PWSJ and GRPC on Thursday September 24th at 7:00PM for a Community Engagement Forum to discuss a new Artist-in-Residency (AIR) program and to provide input for PWSJ's first activation! Sign up by clicking on the link below. We would also appreciate your feedback at the survey linked here.

Volunteer Highlights: August 2020
McCarthy comes to the Park!
As Summer 2020 draws to a close, we want to thank our amazing volunteers for persevering through heatwaves, fires, smoke, social distancing, and more! We have made so much progress this summer with the Heritage Rose Garden and Historic Orchard, plus trail and river clean ups. We couldn't have done it without their hard work and dedication.

The Guadalupe River Park also had the pleasure of welcoming our very first COVID-era corporate volunteer group from McCarthy. With the group's help, including former GRPC employee Jen Aquino, the pathways around the Visitor and Education Center and Coleman Avenue entrance (before and after pictured above) are in great shape!
