Attention El Sobrante & Rollingwood Residents: (Notice from Supervisor Gioia)
Due to the Republic Services labor dispute, there has been no garbage pickup in most of West County this week. This work stoppage is occurring throughout the Bay Area.
It is not known when service will resume. I have been in contact with leadership of Republic Services and the Teamsters Union to encourage a resolution of this dispute.
Our office has arranged for a free dumpster to be available in El Sobrante this Saturday morning for residents to drop off their household garbage (no hazardous materials).
You can also drop off up to 4 bags of trash for free at Republic’s Golden Bear Transfer Station at 1 Parr Blvd., Richmond (in North Richmond off the Richmond Parkway). This facility is open.
Monday to Friday from 7 am to 5 pm and on Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm.
It is also recommended that residents place any extra garbage in sturdy trash bags and place them out next to your cart for free pickup once collection services resume.
Free Trash Drop-off Event Details:
- Location: El Sobrante Moose Lodge, 4660 Appian Way, El Sobrante, CA 94803
- Date: Saturday, July 12
- Time: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
This is a community resource to help you safely and responsibly dispose of your trash during this disruption in regular service.
Please spread the word to your neighbors.
