Student Media Live!
November 30 | 4-10pm | Anna Head Alumnae Hall
The event is a collection of features commonly found in traditional, print magazines but done in the form of live presentations. Presentations include poetry readings, live photoshoots, performances from bands, and videos -- all created by members of student publications on campus.

To the Letter: Regarding the Written Word

This exhibition crosses cultures and centuries to bring together works that activate the expressive and aesthetic potential of letters and words.
Socially-engaged Internet-art. Aesthetics of Information Ethics

Socially-engaged Internet-art should maximize both social and artistic efficacy by distinguishing qualities, means, and ends of generating reactions from the audiences and subjects of the artworks.

This program, presented in conjunction with the Association for the Study of the Arts of the Present, showcases the richly textured film and video work of two artists who share a concern for the multiple definitions of art, race, performance, and history.
The Summer of Love 50th Anniversary
Oct. 27th | 9am - 5pm | Bancroft Library
Marking a 50th anniversary, Bancroft’s rare and unique collections documenting the 1967 “Summer of Love” are on exhibit in the corridor cases.
Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker’s Apocalypse
Oct. 28th | 6pm | Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive
Head behind the scenes of one of the most notorious film shoots ever in this fly-on-the-wall documentary on the making of Apocalypse Now. “Fascinating, harrowing film history” (Roger Ebert).

Partner Resources
The Digital Media Lab (DML) Consortium consists of five Digital Media studios and classrooms. The Digital Media Labs have equipment available for student check-out, including digital video cameras, lighting kits, audio recording devices, microphones, mic stands, boom poles, and a variety of audio and video production accessories*. Two Digital Media studios are located in Dwinelle Hall and three are on the second floor of Kroeber Hall.
The J‑School maintains an extensive database of the best and newest internship and job opportunities, drawn from industry newsletters, Internet job listings, and contact lists in print, broadcast and new media.
Student Org Spotlight!
Publication Spotlight:
The Troika is an undergraduate journal in Eastern European, Eurasian, and Slavic Studies at UC Berkeley. It was founded in 2010, and first published in Spring 2011. The journal features outstanding undergraduate work from colleges and universities nationwide, including academic papers, memoirs, creative writing, translations, and photography.
