Dear STEM Families,
The Dayton Regional STEM School is participating in a US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food and Nutrition Program that provides FREE MEALS TO ALL STUDENTS through June 1, 2022. This is a zero-cost program to Dayton Regional STEM School with the federal government funding all approved meals served during this time frame.
WHY: Availability of USDA Child Nutrition COVID-19 Waiver
WHO: All Dayton Regional STEM School students qualify
WHEN: Available for the 2021-2022 school year.
WHAT: All reimbursable lunch meals - Each reimbursable meal must include a minimum of 3 components of which 1 must be a fruit or vegetable. Students are encouraged to take all five (5) components (protein, grain, fruit, vegetable & milk).
HOW do I enroll my child(ren): If your student would like a meal during the lunch period, they will need to order that meal during their first period class. This will ensure that our caterer, Baked By Anita, our catering service will bring enough meals.
Families who qualify based on income for free/reduced meals are still encouraged to submit their National School Lunch Program Application to ensure that they do not lose their free/reduced status at the conclusion of this program. The application can also be found on the school website. The qualification of free/reduced meals also has benefits such as:
- 2021-2022 School Fee Waivers
- College Application Fee Waivers (up to 5 colleges)
- ACT/SAT Fee Waivers
- Potential Pandemic-EBT Benefit during the 2021-2022 school year
**This institution is an equal opportunity provider.**
