Asia

Cambodia: Pray for APFMMA missionary Miu-Ling's health. She supervises three International Child Care Ministries centers and handles a lot of administrative work. Pray God will give her good health to continue serving in Cambodia.

Pray for the new Kurmul International School, a joint project of three Christian groups in Hong Kong, including Free Methodists. This school was dedicated in November and is on the mission center property in Phnom Penh Thmei. Pray all the permits needed for classes to start this fall will be granted.

Asia Pacific FM Missions Association (APFMMA): Pray as executive committee meetings are held this week, March 23 and 24 in Hong Kong for APFMMA, the primary sending organization of Asian missionaries. Pray for the Lord's direction and guidance for the meetings, for envisioning new goals, and for the training that will take place. Pray for Executive Director Rev. Shirish Ahaley, Associate Director Rev. Edna Bacus and each of the 10 APFMMA missionaries:

five are from Hong Kong (four ministering in Cambodia and one in the Hong Kong conference office) and five are from the Philippines (one in Hong Kong, two in Cambodia, and two on home assignment in the Philippines).

Japan: Bishop Oshima, the FM Bishop in Japan, is considering how the FMC in North America might best serve them and is still organizing the Japan FMC's response as the death toll increases and their churches are becoming more engaged with those affected. Bishop Matt Thomas writes, "We have been in dialogue about how we can help them serve, minister and love the people of Japan in Jesus' name. They are careful to refrain from simply reactionary assistance that might be counterproductive or conflicting with other groups serving in the affected areas. We will communicate more in the coming days." Your continued prayers are appreciated.

Europe

Slovakia: Pray for Josef and Lynette Sykora and their family. Josef continues to work on his doctorate while he's involved in pastoral ministries. Lynette is in a new Slovak language course. She writes, "I need to conquer the grammar." Also pray for their boys, Simon and Luke, to fully recover from recent ear, nose and throat infections.

Spain: "2011 is proving to be a year of more challenges and dreams for the FM Church in Spain," write Josh and Susy Fajardo. "The work started four years ago, and we now have four established churches, PTL! This coming year we are praying and planning for new open doors. One of these doors is a new ministry/learning center in the capital, Madrid. It will have a coffee shop to support the operating costs of the center. This will give us an opportunity to reach 100,000 residents in a one-square-kilometer area. It will be near one of the busiest metro stops in Madrid." The Fajardos request prayer for co-workers, both long- and short-term, start-up funds for the ministry/learning center, and funds for a vehicle. Their van broke down six months ago. Pray for God to supply.

Latin America

Middle East/North Africa

North Africa: House churches continue to expand and multiply throughout North Africa Creative Access Country A. As unrest continues in parts of North Africa, pray for safety among house church leaders. Pray that "men and women of peace" would be found in unreached villages. Pray Jesus will continue to reveal Himself.

The August 8 to 20 session will offer: Homiletics, Wesleyan Theology, Gospel of John,

Elders: Cults & Comparative Religions, Pastoral Theology, and Introduction to Counseling. For more information, contact VISA Ministries at 800-342-5531 or ExploreMissions@gmail.com

Global Studies Intensive-Kenya: Over the years the Free Methodist Church has grown exponentially around the world. North Americans don't necessarily get to glimpse the excitement of what this means, or hear gripping stories of God at work, or see what passion for lost people looks like when lived out by "everyday" people in other lands. Global Studies Intensive-Kenya will give you perspective on the world Christian movement in a Free Methodist context and could very well give you new perspective on your own life and ministry. GSI-Kenya takes place December 28, 2011, to January 11, 2012. Pray God will direct the planning and bring together a great group of participants. Interested in learning more?
