June 2026

Fourth graders can see America’s natural wonders and historic sites for free!

Not just fourth graders but family and friends too!  If a site charges entrance fees per person, the pass admits all children under 16 and up to three adults for free.

If the site charges vehicle entrance fees, the pass admits all children under 16 and all adults in one passenger vehicle.

Fourth graders were chosen because: “Kids ages nine to 11 are beginning to learn about the world around them. They’re open to new ideas, and they are likely to connect to nature and our history.”

If you have a fourth grader in your family go here to get a free pass: Every Kid Outdoors

June 7th -20th In-Person-Caravan

Regrettably, we had to cancel the May Caravan but there will be one in June!

The June caravan gathering will be located under the lodgepole pines on national forest land near Mammoth Lakes, California. It’s at a high elevation, around 8,000’. If you are coming from the lowlands, drink plenty of water, and take it slow until your body adjusts to the elevation. The temperatures should be cool at night and pleasant during the day. Exact coordinates will be published on the HOWA website at 6:00PM Pacific Time on June 6th. https://homesonwheelsalliance.org/in-person-caravan-camp/

Please Consider Donating an Unwanted Vehicle to HOWA

While we can’t accept vehicles for our programs at this time you can still help HOWA by donating through our partner CARS (Charitable Adult Rides & Services). Most vehicles, running or not, are accepted including RVs, planes, and heavy equipment. HOWA receives 30% of the revenue from the gross proceeds. Over the last 2 ½ years that has added up to over $9,000! Thank you to all who have donated!

"The CARS vehicle donation program is unique because we are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit social enterprise that only supports other nonprofits” https://careasy.org/

Thank You Hele Outdoors

Hele Outdoors is donating five adjustable solo sleeping platforms quarterly to nomads in need of a comfortable bed. The second group of five recipients received their Hele Boxes in May.

Christy wrote: I am so grateful for this generous donation. Thank you so much HOWA and Hale Outdoors for helping me have a better night's sleep!

Thank you, Hele Outdoors, for this donation that will improve the lives of nomads!

Donations Slow Down in the Summer but the Need Continues

This time of year, It's easy to picture life on the road as the dream — windows down, open skies, freedom in every mile.

But for many nomads, summer tells a different story.

Thousands are work camping right now, stretching thin paychecks and living with the reality that one breakdown could unravel everything. HOWA is here when that happens.

That calm is what HOWA provides — with your help. Please Donate
