676 North Michigan Avenue Façade Project
Redmond Construction was hired to complete a façade project at 676 North Michigan Avenue. Currently, the following closures are in-place:
- Sidewalk on the south side of Huron, from Michigan Avenue to a point 150' west thereof
- Curb lane on the south side of Huron, from Michigan Avenue to a point 150' west there of is being used as a pedestrian walkway
- Partial sidewalk closure the west side of Michigan, from Huron to a point 100' south thereof
This project is expected to be completed by fall 2025.
Filming
Chicago Fire
On Tuesday, January 28, Chicago Fire will be filming inside 71 East Wacker Drive. During the filming, parking will be prohibited at the following locations:
- Both Sides Of Garland Court From Lake St To Lower South Water (Tuesday, January 28, 2025 7 am – 11 am)

Both Sides Of Wabash From Lake St To Randolph (Tuesday January 28 from 11 am – 8 pm)
- West Side Of Garland Court From Haddock Place To Lake St (Tuesday January 28 from 11 am – 8 pm)

Commercial Filming at 2 East Cedar
On Wednesday, January 29th, a commercial will be filming interior scenes at 20 E Cedar. During filming, parking will be prohibited at the following locations:
- North Side of Cedar from State St to 30 E Cedar (9am to 8pm)

Helicopter Lift: 320 North Dearborn Street
On Saturday, February 1, from 9am to 11am, there will be a helicopter lift at 320 N Dearborn Street. During the lift, the follow will be closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic:
- Dearborn, from Wacker to Kinzie
- Wacker, from State to Clark
Crane Lift: 157 W Grand Ave
On Saturday, February 8, 2025 a crane lift will take place to replace two units on the rooftop of 157 W Grand, resulting in a partial street closure from 8am - 5pm. One lane will remain open on Grand Ave during the lift. A backup day will be scheduled for Sunday, February 9, 2025.
400 North Lake Shore Drive Update
Below is a construction update for activities at 400 North Lake Shore Drive.
Week of 1/20
- Continue framing, rebar, and pouring to L4
- Begin MEP work on L1 and basement
- Concrete pour for core lift #7
Week of 1/27
- Continue framing, rebar, and pouring to L5
- Continue MEP work on L1 and basement
- Concrete pour for core lift #8
- Begin top down excavation on west side of site
River North Lighting Project
The Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) has completed new light pole installation in the area bounded by Chicago, Ontario, Orleans, and the River. CDOT has begun removal of the old light poles and continues to restore infrastructure trenching.
Pin & Link Project on Randolph and Columbus
CDOT crews are scheduled to perform steel work and bridge expansion joint rehab along Randolph Street, Columbus Drive, and Stetson Avenue. Please see details below:
General Construction Schedule:
7:00 am - 3:30 pm, Monday - Friday; with the occasional extension to 5:30 pm as needed.
Scope of Work and Access Impacts During Construction:
In general, one lane of travel will be open at all times along each roadway, level, and direction. Access along sidewalks will remain open with detours around the work areas.
This project is expected to be completed at the end of June 2025. Asphalt restoration will occur in July 2025.
Casino Demolition Update
The demolition team will begin site concrete crushing operations over the next eight weeks. The operation with run from 8 AM until 5 PM. The crusher will be placed in between the Ontario feeder ramp and the southern edge of the current building.
