Be Safe, Prepare Now

It’s no coincidence that as we recognize September as National Preparedness Month, Broward Connects’ latest podcast explores the Broward County Emergency Operations Center. Tune in to learn about what goes into planning, training, and protecting a community of nearly two million when natural disasters or other emergencies strike. Until now, the Atlantic hurricane season has been fairly quiet, but it’s the later months that often produce the most storms. Residents are encouraged to be prepared by taking simple steps like having an emergency plan and a supply kit ready to go. Visit the County’s hurricane website for evacuation information, preparedness tips and shopping lists.
