About the Presenters

Margo Kennedy, MSW/RSW

Oncology Social Worker

Margo Kennedy, MSW, RSW (she/her) is an oncology Social Worker at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, and Clinical Lead for the Sexual & Gender Diversity in Cancer Care Program. She is driven by her passion for health equity issues and her social work practice is grounded by an anti-oppressive framework while providing compassionate care. Her extensive experience in cancer care has provided a deep appreciation for the many stresses, barriers and challenges that patients may encounter. Margo loves helping people to find their strengths and superpowers. She is committed to developing change and transformation in healthcare, to make it more inclusive and welcoming for everyone. 

Dr. Rob Rutledge MD, FRCPC

Radiation Oncologist

Dr. Rutledge is Clinical Lead for the Prostate Cancer Patient Empowerment Program (PC-PEP) and Cancer PEP (Patient Empowerment Program) and a Radiation Oncologist with Nova Scotia Health Authority, and Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Center, in Halifax, Nova Scotia. His education includes an Undergraduate Math and Computer Science degree, a Certificate in Community Health, Clinical Epidemiology, and a Doctor of Medicine degree, all from the University of Toronto. He has completed a Comprehensive Internship in Medicine at Queen’s University, in Kingston, and the Radiation Oncology Residency Program at University of Ottawa. Dr. Rutledge brings with him over 25 years of experience empowering cancer patients with education about cancer care and survivorship.
