Join us for an All-New FREE Webinar, “Healthcare for Ukrainians with IDD: A Country in Crisis”, will provide an overview of the tremendous struggles throughout the country that the war in Ukraine has created. Tragically the most vulnerable and marginalized of citizens, especially people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD), are often the most forgotten and left behind at times of war and crisis. Barriers to accessible, culturally competent healthcare for people with IDD are well established across the globe. The war in Ukraine has only magnified these barriers and created a raft of new ones.

The American Academy of Developmental Medicine and Dentistry (AADMD) is hosting a discussion among healthcare practitioners and international disability advocates from the US and Eastern Europe including Ukraine who will discuss conditions on the ground and offer recommendations on a way forward.

This presentation features Dr. Seth Keller, a Neurologist with a specialty practice for people with IDD; Marisa Brown, MSN, RN, a clinician and health advocate for people with IDD; Dr. Vladlena Salnikova, the medical director City Children’s Hospital #5, Kharkiv, Ukraine; Dr. Yuliya Snyder, a Pediatric Neurologist born and trained in Ukraine; Halyna Kurlyo, Disability Rights International Director, Ukraine Rapid Response; and David Evangelista, President and Managing Director, Special Olympics Europe Eurasia.

The presentation will be moderated by Nancy Thaler, a national leader in public policy and program development for individuals with disabilities, and former director of Pennsylvania's Office of Developmental Programs and former Director of the National Association of State Directors of Developmental Disabilities Services.
