Seeds of Hope AmeriCorps members honor, give back on 9/11 Day of Service
Oumu Turay (pictured right), who serves with the Seeds of Hope Neighborhood Center AmeriCorps program, helped deliver box lunches to on-duty fire fighters and EMTs at the Biddeford Fire Department. Included in the delivery were 75 hand-written thank you notes for all staff and volunteers -- all written by Seeds of Hope AmeriCorps members. The members also researched stories of heroism on 9/11 and shared them with the neighbors they serve and other Seeds of Hope volunteers. Well done, all!

Maine's rural micro-AmeriCorps takes center stage at State & National Symposium
Congratulations to our Michael Ashmore who presented an informative session on the exclusive-to-Maine AmeriCorps rural grant initiative, which scales programs to a size appropriate for the community. A nationwide audience had the chance to learn about successes, challenges and even hear directly from Maine rural program leadership. It's always great to see Maine on the national stage!
