 Wellness Programs

Free Screening During Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month  
HMAA wants to support members in staying healthy by helping with the detection and prevention of colorectal cancer through a non-invasive screening program. Especially now during Cancer Awareness Month, we are promoting preventive screenings for colorectal cancer, the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States. Although it is one of the deadliest forms, colorectal cancer can be cured if caught early. Preventive screenings are key to early detection.
We are making the process easier by offering a free at-home fecal immunochemical test (FIT) kit to HMAA members between the ages of 50 and 75 who have not had a sigmoidoscopy in the last 5 years, a colonoscopy in the last 10 years, or a FIT screening in the last 12 months according to our records. Eligible individuals may learn more or request a free FIT kit through March 31, 2018.
Maternity & Baby Care Incentive Program
HMAA has an excellent maternity program that provides education, intervention and guidance, along with great incentives such as a free fetal Doppler rental and $250 Target GiftCard for diaper products! With a goal of healthy pregnancy and delivery, our wellness and clinical team determines an appropriate care plan for each participant, which may include working closely with specialized case managers and healthcare providers. Incentives are offered at various stages of the program and are contingent on meeting certain requirements.
If any of your HMAA members are between 1 and 20 weeks pregnant, please encourage them to enroll in this innovative program. Learn more or submit an enrollment request, or contact our Customer Service Center.

The Active&Fit® Program (Employer-Sponsored)
The Active&Fit® Program offers memberships to thousands of participating fitnes s centers nationwide including 24 Hour Fitness, YMCA, and many others, at an annual fee of $100! Groups that provide HMAA medical coverage to their employees may purchase this benefit as a rider, wit h affordable monthly rates starting at $4.30 per employee.* Certain requirements apply.

* Monthly premium for the rider must be paid by the employer or health plan sponsor, and the Active&Fit member fee is paid by the eligible participant. In the event of termination of the group's Active&Fit Program rider or the eligible participant's HMAA medical plan eligibility, the eligible participant will no longer receive the rider benefits after such termination date. Reinstating an Active&Fit membership thereafter requires payment of another annual fee of $100 (or $10 for Home Fitness). The employer shall be responsible for all coverage notifications to eligible participants.
