Dear Friends and Colleagues:

You are cordially invited to a very special presentation of the critically acclaimed show, “To My White Friends Who Know Me,” by Dr. Deborah Plummer. This play, dedicated to helping people understand their shared, core identity as humans and relate to each other without fear, is being offered the weekend of October 7 and 8 at the Coral Gables Congregational United Church of Christ, 3131 De Soto Boulevard, Coral Gables, FL 33134.

In a day and time when the State of Florida has attempted to revise Black history, restrict diversity, equity, and inclusion programs, and has experienced a rise in white supremacy groups, it is important that we of all ages and backgrounds learn, share, work, and grapple together in the work of anti-racism.

Playwright Deborah Plummer, a psychologist, educator, and founder of “Getting to We,” has written a frank, funny, enlightening play that thoughtfully examines race relations through the lens of cross-racial friendships and their untapped benefits. Dr. Plummer will also be with us at both performances to lead post-show conversations inspiring us to achieve racial equity one friend at a time.

The performances are Saturday evening, October 7 at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday afternoon, October 8, at 1:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary.

We encourage you to be with us and bring members of your congregation and/or family and friends to one of these performances.

Please let The Rev. Dr. Laurinda Hafner know that you will be coming and how many tickets you need. She is pleased to offer them to you for free. You can reach her at [email protected] or 305.448.7421.ext 116.

Thank you,
